Mission and objectivesEgypt has been an observer state to the International Organization for Migration (IOM) since 1974 and became a full-fledged member in 1991 at which time IOM established its mission in Cairo with the purpose of assisting foreign nationals who had been forcefully displaced by the Gulf War to voluntarily repatriate or resettle in third countries. Since entering into Agreement with the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt (GoE) soon thereafter, IOM Egypt has since established productive working relations with migration-related ministries, as well as UN partners and civil society. Over the last 25 years, IOM has continuously enlarged its engagement in new fields of concern encompassing a wide range of activities in many programmatic areas such as: labour migration and human development; counter-trafficking; technical cooperation on migration management; migration health; emergency and post-crisis migration management; and resettlement.
ContextThe International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Egypt is implementing several awareness campaigns through social media to promote social cohesion, safe migration, and services available for migrants in Egypt. To enhance the visual impact and outreach of these campaigns, the Communications Unit is seeking the support of an online volunteer with strong video editing skills.
Task DescriptionWe are looking for a talented online volunteer to support IOM Egypt’s Communications team by: Editing 2 to 4 videos (including full-length and shorter versions) for social media; Adding subtitles and ensuring all visual elements follow IOM’s branding guidelines; Exporting videos in multiple sizes and formats optimized for various social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X, etc.); Applying basic color correction and sound balancing as needed. The volunteer will closely coordinate with the Media & Communications Team and will be provided with raw footage and branding assets to complete the tasks.
