ContextThis online volunteer assignment involves translating two UN mandatory courses into Lao language. These courses are for all new UN Volunteers to ensure safety, foster ethical conduct, and understand the rights and responsibilities of UN personnel. This assignment offers an opportunity to refine your translation skills, gain international experience with a UN agency, and support the material for the onboarding process for volunteers in Laos. Your contributions as an Online Volunteer will improve language accessibility, especially for National Community Volunteers, enabling them to complete these mandatory courses. Upon completion, you will receive an official certificate recognizing your contributions.
Task DescriptionWe are seeking 2 Online Volunteers to support the translation of UNV mandatory courses: 1 ) Prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse of the local population (PSEA). 2) Prevention of harassment, sexual harassment and abuse of authority from English to Lao. The selected Online Volunteers will be provided with the document of each mandatory course in English to translate into easy-to-understand Lao language. The document will consist of screenshots of the course in English. The online volunteers will be required to translate each screenshot into Lao language and organize the Word document page to make it easy to read.
