ContextThis assignment is to help ensure that the information on UNDP's transparency and accountability platform (The Stakeholder Response Mechanism) is available and accessible to all project stakeholders for all UNDP-supported projects in South Africa. Note: Online Volunteers voluntarily share their time and expertise and receive no financial compensation. Contributing to sustainable human development, developing knowledge and skills, expanding networks and working in a multicultural environment are some of the many benefits of online volunteering. Upon successful completion of the assignment, Online Volunteers will receive an electronic certificate of appreciation.

Task DescriptionUnder the direct supervision of the Programme Specialist-Social and Environmental Standards (SES), UNDP is seeking 8 Online Volunteers to support us by translating a one-page document on Social and Environmental Compliance Review and Stakeholder Response Mechanism from English to four local South African languages. To this end, the Online Volunteers are asked: • To translate the 1 page document from English to; 1. Ndebele; 2. Sotho; 3. Tswana; 4. Pedi • Ensure the translation is correct and concise, with no grammatic or contextual errors; • The selected Online Volunteers will be provided with the English document as well as other guidance as needed; • The Online Volunteers will have the opportunity to build connections with the SES Program Specialist at UNDP and the Social and Environmental Compliance Review and Stakeholder Response Mechanism.
