Mission and objectivesThe United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is the United Nations' global development network, advocating for change and connecting countries to knowledge, experience and resources to help people build a better life. It is on the ground in 177 countries, working on solutions to global and national development challenges. UNDP China assists China in developing its own solutions to the countryโs development challenges and works to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by reducing poverty, strengthening the rule of law and democratic governance, and by promoting environmental sustainability and South-South Cooperation.
ContextThe \"Movers4Climate\" initiative is a flagship program, aimed at empowering young climate leaders to advocate for and implement climate action initiatives through volunteer service in rural areas. In 2025, Movers4Climate aims to engage a diverse group of volunteers, including 1,000 online participants and 200 Community UN Volunteers, specifically focusing on reaching remote rural areas to support sustainable development education. We are recruiting three Online Volunteers to assist with translation on a case-by-case basis. The Online Volunteers will provide translation support for participants encountering language barriers during the application process via the UVP system. The translation support volunteers will contribute to the smooth execution of the Movers4Climate initiative and enhance overall process efficiency. Online Volunteers might be requested to sign Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) with UNDP due to confidential information and data protection.
Task DescriptionWe are seeking 3 Online Volunteers to support us by translating Application Materials on Movers4Climate from Chinese to English. To this end the Online Volunteers are asked to: - Translate the document containing application materials (which may include personal information, forms, etc.) into English. - Ensure the translation is concise, in line with our communications guidelines.
