Organizational Setting
FAO Azerbaijan Partnership and Liaison Office, in close cooperation with the government and its in-line Ministries/Agencies, contributes to the sustainable agri-food systems, and supports the government with addressing issues food security, agriculture and rural development, natural resource management in the country. FAOโs technical assistance, provided mainly through projects, includes institution building, development of knowledge and competencies, and exchange of experience among FAO member countries.
Reporting Lines
Under the overall supervision of the FAOR, the direct supervision of the Assistant FAO Representative (AFAOR) and in close coordination with the National Project Coordinator (NPC) and project team (national and international consultants), as well as national counterpart.
Technical Focusย
The objective of the training program is to equip laboratory personnel with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively conduct microbiological analyses, including the isolation, identification, and quantification of microorganisms in soil, plant, and water samples.
Tasks and responsibilities
โข ย ย Development of training materials on Microbiological Analyses of Soil, Plant, and Water Samples.
โข ย ย Conduct 2-days theoretical and practical training on (1) microbiological analyses of soil, plant, and water samples, focusing on microorganism isolation, identification, and quantification
โข ย ย Provide a final report summarizing the training process, evaluation of participants' performance, and recommendations for improving laboratory practices.ย
โข ย ย Conduct 2-days training on demonstration of laboratory techniques and equipment use for microbiological sample analysis.
CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING
Minimum Requirements
โข ย ย Masterโs degree in a relevant field (Microbiology, Biology, or a related field).
โข ย ย Overall minimum 5 years of professional experience in microbiological analysis of environmental samples, particularly soil, plant, and water. Training and capacity development experience; demonstrated ability to conduct practical training sessions for laboratory staff.

โข ย ย Proficiency in laboratory equipment and analytical techniques. ย
