ContextThe Tech Volunteers for Resilience (Tech4R) programme mobilizes skilled digital volunteers to co-create open-source tools that strengthen resilience, accessibility, and inclusion. This assignment supports the Gamified and Simulation-Based Safety Trainings for Children project, jointly implemented by UNESCO Ukraine and Tech4R, to provide children aged 10โ16 with engaging, trauma-sensitive learning tools on emergency safety. The project integrates both gamified decision-making modules and simulation-based AR experiences to teach safe behavior in high-stress situations. The Testing & Accessibility Volunteers will ensure that the mobile app and AR experiences are technically sound, user-friendly, and fully accessible for children of different needs, including those with disabilities or sensory sensitivities.
Task DescriptionThe Volunteer will work to: โข Test mobile and AR modules for functionality, stability, and user experience across devices. โข Review app flow and visual design for clarity and accessibility (including color contrast, font legibility, and audio cues). โข Conduct accessibility checks in line with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1). โข Identify and report technical or design issues in structured feedback reports. โข Collaborate with developers, designers, and child psychology volunteers to propose improvements. โข Support the creation of the Accessibility and Usability Testing Checklist for internal quality assurance. This is an unpaid volunteer assignment.
