CLOSING DATE: 22nd August 2025 [New York Time]
Background:
UNFPA Supplies Partnership is committed to advancing family planning and maternal health to support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the Pacific Island Countries (PICs). DMPA-SC, a subcutaneous injectable contraceptive, offers a safe, effective, and user-friendly option to expand access to family planning services, particularly in resource-constrained settings. Introducing DMPA-SC in Vanuatu, FSM, Kiribati, and RMI requires tailored strategies to address local health system capacities, stakeholder priorities, and community needs. To ensure successful introduction, a co-design workshop with stakeholders in Vanuatu and FSM will align efforts, identify barriers, and develop actionable plans for DMPA-SC integration. Building on the success of 2024 co-design workshops in Kiribati and RMI, and endorsements of the introduction plans by their respective Ministries of Health, UNFPA will facilitate training of trainers (ToT) for healthcare workers in these two countries. This training will strengthen local capacity to deliver DMPA-SC services, ensuring quality and sustainability.
UNFPA is seeking the services of an international consultant to provide technical support for the introduction of Depot Medroxyprogesterone Acetate Subcutaneous (DMPA-SC) in Vanuatu, Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), Kiribati, and the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI)
