It provides public, private and non-governmental organizations with the knowledge and tools to ensure that human progress, economic development and nature conservation are achieved in harmony. Founded in 1948, IUCN has grown over the years to become the world's largest and most diverse environmental network. It brings together the experience, resources and strength of its 1,300 Member organizations and the expertise of more than 13,000 experts. Our experts are divided into six Commissions, dedicated to species conservation, environmental law, protected areas, economic and social policy, ecosystem management, and education and communication.

In order to strengthen its interventions, IUCN in collaboration with its partners WUSC, CECI, CIFOR-ICRAF, etc. have initiated the project titled \"Nature-Based Climate adaptation in the Guinean forests of West Africa\" financed by Global Affairs Canada (GAC). The project intervenes in Guinean forest ecosystems in Guinea, Cรดte d'Ivoire and Ghana with the ultimate objective of improving the adoption of gender-sensitive and inclusive nature-based solutions (NBS) for climate change adaptation (CCA) of communities' livelihoods and biodiversity.

In this context, IUCN wishes to recruit a Technical and Logistics Assistant for the project to support the Project implementation and other IUCN initiatives in Ghana. JOB DESCRIPTION MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

a) Specific Responsabilities and Tasks

Planning and implementation of the project in Ghana
- Support the Project Officer in the development of work plans and budget for implementation in Ghana
- Collaborate with Partners to plan, implement and monitor project activities
- Maintain good relations with administrative authorities and stakeholders who can positively or negatively influence project results, to ensure successful implementation;
- Ensure regular contact with other conservation partners in the project area and, where possible, develop joint activities in synergy for sustainability
- Support the development of an appropriate mechanism for involving local people in project activities;
- Support the preparation of ToRs for recruiting and coordinate the work of national consultants;
- Support the implementation of the recommendations of project management and the Steering Committee;
- Identify innovative solutions to address climate change in the project landscape

b) Logistics and project management

- Ensure the effective use and functioning of project equipment and logistics (vehicles, computers, printers etc)
- Support the development of quarterly and annual work plans and budgets in collaboration with other partners and ensure their implementation;
- Support the timely technical and financial preparation of project reports and coordinate the development of an appropriate internal monitoring and evaluation system for project performance and project staff;
- Work closely with the other project partners, collaborators and IUCN members for implementation;
- Make inputs to partners workplan and ensure effective implementation and reporting
- Work closely with CECI and WUSC project team and other partners to ensure consistency, synergy and complementarity of interventions
- Support the coordination of other IUCN Projects in Ghana and maintain a god relationship with the Government, IUCN members and Partners and other key stakeholders
- Develop other opportunities through networking, proposal development and ensure the growth of IUCN in Ghana. REQUIREMENTS โ€ข Have a minimum of bachelorโ€™s degree in one of the environmental sciences and rural development disciplines;

โ€ข Have at least 2 years of experience in the field of sustainable natural resource management and logistics management

โ€ข Have an excellent knowledge records taking and environmental management in Ghana

โ€ข Have a proven experience in technical and logistics management;

โ€ข Have an excellent level of spoken and written English language

โ€ข Proficiency in French will be an advantage

โ€ข Have a good knowledge of computer tools and software for office and electronic communication.

โ€ข Have good knowledge of community engagement

โ€ข Other criteria

Demonstrate experience of working in multidisciplinary, multicultural and teams.

โ€ข Must be able to speak at least one of the Akan languages in Ghana, proficiency in Twi is an added advantage

โ€ข Communication skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary,

โ€ข Strong organisational, synthesis and report writing skills and excellent attention to detail;

โ€ข High discretion on all strategic and financial information;

โ€ข Very open-minded and innovative

โ€ข Rigorous and precise in work;
