In this full-time, maximum term role (through to end of December 2026, with potential for extension) based in Mount Isa (with travel as detailed below), youโll lead our team of practitioners in the Family and Child Connect Program. As part of our Queensland Programs team, youโll report to the Regional Manager.
You will make a difference by:
Overseeing the day-to-day operational and administrative requirements of the Family and Child Connect Program, including the Local Level Alliance and the Family Integrated Case Management services Leading services in remote locations, from Richmond in NWQ up to Mornington Island in the Gulf of Carpentaria Leading a team of practitioners throughout all stages of the employee lifecycle, including provision of expert support and advice in Supervision sessions Role modelling and facilitating a learning culture by proactively maintaining knowledge of relevant research, programmatic themes and opportunities to enhance team skills and capabilityA place to feel valued:
Youโre an enthusiastic and committed leader who understands that childrenโs right to safety, survival, development and participation is core to the way we work. Youโre active, creative and flexible in your approach to working with families and children, using a trauma-informed, strengths-based and culturally sensitive framework within communities and when working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. You have the ability to develop and maintain partnerships with external organisations at all levels, and you can supervise, coach and mentor others with an empathetic approach.
This role requires:Demonstrated experience working with children and families, particularly families experiencing family and domestic violence Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities A Bachelorโs degree in a related field (Social Work, Community Development etc) or significant equivalent experienceA place to belong:
