Job Summary:
As a Talent Acquisition Specialist - University Relations, you will play a key role in building and maintaining relationships with universities, colleges, and technical schools to attract top talent to FHI 360. The TA Specialist โ University Relations will collaborate with hiring departments and mentors to understand their hiring needs and develop strategies to engage with students. They will coordinate intern events and hiring fairs, manage advertising efforts, and stay updated on relevant industry trends and practices. They will be responsible for coordinating FHI 360โs internal Fellowship programs in addition to working with University Fellows.
Accountabilities:
Recruits, interviews, and recommends placement of candidates for intern positions.
Develops effective working relationships with universities, colleges, and technical schools.
Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with all levels of company.
Works in coordination with HR Communications to communicate important internship program dates throughout the year to the organization.
Works directly with interns and mentors to showcase FHI 360โs intern cohorts each semester.
Collaborates with hiring managers to identify and recommend the most qualified applicants for their internships.
Extends offers to candidates selected for internships.
Manages intern advertisements and internal and external messaging.
Coordinates in-person and virtual intern events.
Keeps informed of industry trends and standard processes related to intern recruitment.
Meets with managers and mentors to review intern SOWs and make recommendations for improvement when necessary.
Builds applicant pools through advertising with universities and colleges, through social media, and other internet sites.
Builds the FHI 360 brand by providing organization information to universities/colleges and intern applicants.
Makes presentations to FHI 360 hiring teams about the internship program, highlighting the benefits for both the students and organization.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations and/or attending HR conferences.
Applied Knowledge & Skills:
Solid understanding of concepts, practices, and procedures with recruitment activities and staffing functions.
Knowledge of federal and state employment laws with focus on industry of the company to attract talent.
Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite and media sources used for recruitment.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent problem solving and project management skills.
Ability to work well with others and meet deadlines.
Ability to analyze data and prepare reports.
Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English.
Education:
Associateโs Degree or its international Equivalent in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Communications, or related field.
HR certification preferred.
Experience:
Requires 3-5 years of experience with staffing/recruitment activities and practices with much of that time focused on working with universities and interns.
Prior experience cultivating meaningful relationships with universities, colleges, and technical schools.
Experience working closely with interns to identify appropriate opportunities and collect feedback post internship.
Working experience with Workday HRIS system preferred.
Prior work experience in a non-governmental organization (NGO) preferred.

Computer/Laptop, Microsoft applications (i.e., Office 365, SharePoint, Skype/Zoom/Teams), cell phone/mobile technology, and standard office equipment.

The expected US Based hiring salary range for this role is listed below. Candidates FHI 360 pay ranges represent national averages that vary by geographic location. When determining an offer amount, FHI 360 factors in multiple considerations, including but not limited to: relevant years of experience and education possessed by the applicant, internal equity, business sector, and budget.
Base salary is only one component of our offer. FHI 360 contributes 12% of monthly base pay to a money purchase pension plan account. Additionally, all US based staff working full-time, which is calculated at 40 hours/week, receive 18 days of paid vacation per year, 12 sick days per year, and 11 holidays per year. Paid time off is reduced pro rata for employees working less than a full-time schedule.
US Based Hiring Salary Range: $65,00 - $85,000
International hiring ranges will differ based on location.
