- Assist in the planning and implementation of the activities to monitor water quality in the locations of IOM interventions, and any other site required.
- Assist in ย planning and coordinating the project interventions for water quality, and prepare cost estimates for the activities.ย
- Monitor budget; verify availability of funds; obtain necessary approval and update budget related information.ย
- Act as focal point for administrative coordination of project implementation, involving extensive liaison with diverse organizational units and external parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, process and follow-up on administrative actions, etc
- ย Assist in coordinating water sampling and water quality analysis for the water supply chain (from source to the final storage at household level)Draft status reports, identifying shortfalls in delivery, bring them to the attention of the supervisor and suggest remedial actions.
- Draft correspondence on project issues; prepare and update reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentation, and other forms of documentation.ย
- Contribute to write ย procedures and technical guidelines for water quality analysis.
- Deliver training to the communities on water quality, safe water handling and storage, water disinfection.ย
- Plan and implement the distribution of water by truck in IDP sites and any other location required
- ย Suggest and implement solution for guaranteeing the minimum standard in terms of quantity and quality of water distributed
- Provide ย guidance/training and/or superviseย new/junior staff
- Maintain communication with the water suppliers, and promptly address any service issues
- Support for improving the existing laboratory in terms of quantity and quality of the service
- ย Suggest and implement solution for water purification at household level and community level.
- Manage the laboratory, ensuring equipment, materials and procedures are in place and followed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
SECTION 4
Required Qualifications and Experience
EDUCATION
University Degree in Chemistry, Biology (or related fields) from and accredited academic institution, with ย four years of relevant professional experience, or
School diploma with six years of relevant experience.
EXPERIENCE
Experience in water sampling and analysis.
Experience in managing a laboratory and equipment for water analysis
Experience in water distribution
SKILLS
Knowledge in water biological and chemical analysis
Knowledge in water quality parameters
Good computer literacy and good skills in Excel, Word
Good knowledge and skills in data analysis
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

IOMโs official languages are English, French, and Spanish.ยREQUIRED
For this position, fluency in French, English and Haitian Creole is required (oral and written).
