ContextThe United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme contributes to sustainable human development through volunteerism worldwide, and volunteerism play a pivotal role in facilitating the engagement of Fiji and Small Islands Countries individuals with the UN system, to contribute to peace and development in the country. To that end, we are seeking to collaborate with Online Volunteers in talent outreach activities through digital advocacy and mapping exercise. As Online Volunteers, your task is to support the UN Volunteers Programme (UNV) in disseminating the upcoming talent outreach activities/campaigns, sharing volunteer assignments on various social media platforms to encourage prospective candidates to join the UNV Talent Pool, and do research on talent sourcing and mapping.
Task DescriptionWe are currently seeking the assistance of five Online Volunteers, under the guidance of the UNV Operations Analyst – Regional Talent Acquisition, to help promote volunteering opportunities in Fiji and the Small Island Developing States (SDIs), and to attract a diverse pool of candidates to support UN response initiatives. The countries include the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), Palau, Nauru, Kiribati, the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI), Fiji, the Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, the Cook Islands, Niue, Samoa, and Tokelau. Your responsibilities will include: 1. Disseminate UNV opening opportunity, promote Unified Volunteer Platform (UVP) and talent outreach activities/ campaign with professional networks that match to target group via social media. 2. Identify and research talent acquisition trends in Fiji and Small Islands Countries: 2.1 Local Job portals 2.2 Talent outreach event 2.3 University alumni network 2.4 Professional association, local NGOs and local organization in Fiji and Small Islands Countries for the topic below. - Youth - Climate Change - Engineering and Architecture - Gender and Inclusion (Persons with Disabilities , ethnic groups) - Health - Information and Technology - Other skills as needed at the moment 3. Provide the report to UNV for your activities and have discussion with the Regional Talent Acquisition Focal Point. Your diligent record-keeping of dissemination efforts will enable us to continue the work you started.
