5 Steps to get a job in the United Nations

Mission and objectivesIstanbul International Center for Private Sector in Development (IICPSD) supports the private sector and foundations to become transformative partners in development through research, advocacy for inclusive business, facilitation of public-private dialogue and brokering partnerships. IICPSD, established in 2011 in partnership with the Government of Turkey, is one of UNDP's six Global Policy Centres. It leads UNDPโ€™s global work on private sector and foundations and supports UNDPโ€™s offices all over the world. The Center focuses on four thematic areas: 1. Inclusive Business; 2. Private Sector Engagement in Skills Development; 3. Impact investing; 4. Resilience and Crisis Response. The Center also hosts four global initiatives: Business Call to Action, SDG Philanthropy Platform, Global Islamic Finance and Impact Investing Platform and Connecting Business Initiative.

ContextThe Tech Volunteers for Resilience (Tech4R) programme, co-led by the UNDP Istanbul International Center for Private Sector in Development (ICPSD) and the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme, mobilizes skilled community volunteers to co-develop open-source digital solutions that strengthen resilience, recovery, and inclusivity in crisis and development contexts. In collaboration with UNDP Ukraine, Tech4R is implementing the Digital Accessibility and Universal Design Assessment Tool for Youth Centers project. The initiative supports youth centers across Ukraine โ€” key institutions for social inclusion, non-formal education, and community engagement โ€” to evaluate and improve the accessibility of their facilities and services. The project aims to develop a low-code digital self-assessment tool that allows youth centers to measure accessibility and universal design compliance, visualize results, and identify areas for improvement. By standardizing evaluation processes, the tool will enhance inclusivity, encourage evidence-based planning, and integrate universal design principles into Ukraineโ€™s recovery and reconstruction efforts. Low-Code/No-Code Builder Volunteers will design and configure the digital tool using accessible platforms such as Glide, AppSheet, or Google Forms + Sheets, ensuring that it is intuitive, functional, and scalable for local use.

Task DescriptionThe Online Volunteer will be expected to provide support to the team with: โ€ข Configure the low-code platform structure, including modules, question logic, and scoring. โ€ข Integrate form responses into a structured database for automated reporting. โ€ข Develop user-friendly layouts optimized for mobile and desktop.
