Mission and objectivesIstanbul International Center for Private Sector in Development (IICPSD) supports the private sector and foundations to become transformative partners in development through research, advocacy for inclusive business, facilitation of public-private dialogue and brokering partnerships. IICPSD, established in 2011 in partnership with the Government of Turkey, is one of UNDP's six Global Policy Centres. It leads UNDP’s global work on private sector and foundations and supports UNDP’s offices all over the world. The Center focuses on four thematic areas: 1. Inclusive Business; 2. Private Sector Engagement in Skills Development; 3. Impact investing; 4. Resilience and Crisis Response. The Center also hosts four global initiatives: Business Call to Action, SDG Philanthropy Platform, Global Islamic Finance and Impact Investing Platform and Connecting Business Initiative.
ContextUNDP and Al Ghurair Game Development Bootcamp is a collaborative initiative by the Abdulla Al Ghurair Foundation (AGF), HP and UNDP’s Istanbul International Center for Private Sector in Development (ICPSD). The bootcamp empowers Emirati students and recent graduates (18–35) aspiring to start careers in gaming and esports as junior game developers. The bootcamp focuses on technical training, entrepreneurship, employability, and leadership while providing mentorship opportunities with industry professionals. Participants will develop capstone projects aligned with market demands and join a network of gaming professionals and peers.
Task DescriptionThe volunteers will provide technical training advisory and mentorship to support the UNDP and Al Ghurair Game Development Bootcamp. This includes: -One volunteer will focus on curriculum development, collaborating on the development of the curriculum by offering expertise on course content, structure, and teaching methodologies to ensure effective learning outcomes. -One volunteer will provide facilitator mentorship, offering guidance to facilitators on how to teach game development concepts effectively and support participants throughout the training process. -One volunteer will be responsible for the design and creation of a single high-quality learning material that will be used in the bootcamp, ensuring alignment with industry standards in game development and esports management.
