Steward/Cashier

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture seeks suitable Nigeria nationals for the position of Steward/Cashier at the Institute\u2019s headquarters in Ibadan.

Position:    Steward/Cashier         

Contract:        3-year renewable contract                                     Location:  Ibadan

DUTIES: 

\u00b7         Perform all necessary tasks to serve food and beverages efficiently and according to hotel standards.

\u00b7         Maintain and upkeep all service equipment and materials, reporting any issues promptly.

\u00b7          Manage stock levels in the storeroom, maintaining high standards of hygiene and minimizing waste.

\u00b7         Prepare tables efficiently for meal service.

\u00b7         Take customer orders accurately, serve food and beverages promptly, and process payments correctly.

\u00b7         Maintain cleanliness of the restaurant before, during, and after service.

\u00b7         Ensure all service preparations are completed before, during, and after service (mis-en-place and mis-en-scene).

\u00b7         Promptly inform the supervisor of any operational issues or guest-related problems.

\u00b7         Show an understanding of other departments\u2019 processes.

\u00b7         Maintain positive working relationships with all kitchen and steward staff.

\u00b7         Ensure pleasant interactions with guests at all times.

\u00b7         Maintain the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the restaurant.

\u00b7         Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.

Requirements

QUALIFICATION:

National Diploma certificate in Hospitality and Management, Home Economics or related field with two (2) years\u2019 experience performing similar role in a well-structured environment.

COMPETENCIES:

The ideal candidate must:

\u00b7         Have a very pleasant personality.

\u00b7         Have good communication skills (writing, reading, and speaking).

\u00b7         Be a good team player and have the ability to work under pressure.

\u00b7         Work beyond regular hours, including evenings, public holidays, and weekends as needed to meet business demands.
