GET.invest is a leading programme that catalyses investment in market-led clean energy projects in developing countries. It is part of the European multi-donor platform GET.pro. GET.invest has a focus on Sub-Sahara Africa, as well as activities in the Caribbean and the Pacific. The programme supports all relevant clean energy technologies and business models, assisting project developers and companies towards โbankabilityโ and linking them with financiers. GET.invest stimulates new partnerships and ventures by providing key information about market opportunities through online tools and resources, (online) events, and by cooperating with industry associations. Finally, via the Prospect data platform, GET.invest supports the sector in leveraging big data and analytics to unlock additional financing. We value team spirit, creativity, agility, gender balance as well as cooperation and co-creation in a flat hierarchy. As of Q3 2023, GET.invest will operate a dedicated Country Window in Nigeria. This position covers the coordination of the GET.invest Country Window in Nigeria.
Your tasks
Coordinate and steer all GET.investโs activities under the Country Window Nigeria in close coordination with GET.investโs core team Coordinate and manage the deployment of GET.invest services in Nigeria, mostly drawing on the existing GET.invest service infrastructure in framework contracts; this includes mobilisation for and deployment of GET.invests โbankabilityโ advisory support, cooperation with associations in organising trainings and events, information products, and supporting the rollout of Prospect among Nigerian stakeholders Coordinate up to two national staff in Nigeria (without direct staff responsibility) Monitor and coordinate the deployment of the dedicated Country Window budget of GET.invest Manage and steer the liaison with the local EU Delegation as the co-financing commissioning party, in close coordination with the GIZ structure, and align & coordinate all work packages within the GIZ cluster Climate and Energy Implement all monitoring, evaluation and reporting duties of GET.investโs Country Window Nigeria in line with GET.invest overarching requirements and GIZ processes Contribute to GET.investโs communication efforts, by facilitating the development of stories, case-studies and other communication formats Contribute to the conceptual development of GET.invest as a whole, and of the country window activities in Nigeria.Your profile
At least a Bachelorโs degree in a relevant subject (e.g. business administration, political science, international relations, engineering, economics, etc.) Strong understanding of the Nigerian energy sector and stakeholder environment, as well as recent network and contacts primarily in the private sector, but also the public sector (especially the Rural Electrification Agency, the Ministry of Energy and the regulatory authority) Many years of professional experience in project management specifically in the context of technical assistance provision in the clean energy space, with a focus on private sector mobilisation and support in the context of rural electrification (esp. Mini-Grids) Several years of experience in leading a diverse team of professionals in a clean energy development program in Nigeria Demonstrated analytical and communication skills both in writing and public presenting / speaking An interdisciplinary mindset, the ability to cooperate and work in a team, willingness to take responsibility, a proactive drive to identify challenges and find solutions Strong MS Office skills (Excel and PowerPoint) Business fluent in English and German; other languages incl. local languages are strong assetsNotes
