Your team
Within the The European Green Sky Directorate, the EUROCONTROL Innovation Hub (EIH) carries out research, innovation and simulation activities to help improve European aviation performance, safety and sustainability, bridging the gap between R&D and operations. The EIH also addresses emerging new technologies as well as deployment of drones and urban air mobility systems.
The Software Developer will, as a member of the development squad in the EUROCONTROL Innovation Hub, design and develop new, dynamic, front-end and backend software by using creativity, a delivery focused approach and teamwork as core values.
You will be assigned to the Engineering Centre of Expertise (CoE) and be working for the modernisation of the simulator programme.
The EUROCONTROL Innovation Hub is seeking Software Developers who have experience in full-stack development.Your role
Your role will be to:
- Design, develop and implement front-end and backend software in the scope of EUROCONTROLโs innovation hub projects.
o capture and analyse project needs in an iterative manner in collaboration with end-users.
o support users in refining the needs/requirements (expectations vs feasibility).
o identify and implement technical solutions.
o support projects during demonstration activities.
o contribute to architecture & DevOps.
o develop and run cloud applications serving R&D and innovation projects.
Required qualifications, experience & competencies
University degree of at least 4 years (e.g. Masterโs degree) in a relevant domain (e.g. Software Engineering, etc.) with minimum 2 yearsโ relevant professional experience. Experience of server-side technologies: Java, Spring Boot, web services (WSDL, XML, REST/HTTP, etc.). Experience in Gradle or Maven, and Linux. Knowledge or understanding in one of the following domains:o Knowledge of browser technologies: React.js or equivalent, HTML5/CSS/SVG, TypeScript.
o Knowledge of server-side technologies: Java, Spring Boot, web services (WSDL, XML, REST/HTTP, etc.).
o Knowledge in database (MySQL, PostGreSQL, ElasticSearch, etc.).
o Understanding of Cloud technologies: Azure, Docker / Kubernetes, Message brokers (Kafka, Redis, NATS, etc.), Terraform.
