UNOPS hosts Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL) Secretariat/Programme in Vienna, Austria. Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL) is an independent organization with a global mandate to accelerate progress on the energy transition in emerging and developing countries. We work at the intersection of energy, climate, and development. We collaborate with governments and partners worldwide to end energy poverty, accelerate the deployment of renewable energy solutions, and combat climate change.

Functional ResponsibilitiesPurpose and Scope of Assignment
Under the supervision of the Director, Communications, the Social Media Officer will be responsible for amplifying on various social media platforms SEforALLโs priority initiatives and events to create greater visibility and to support resource mobilization and new partnerships. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing and creating engaging and visually appealing content and posts on SEforALLโs corporate channels that showcase our impact.
Summary of Key Functions

Social Media Strategy and Planning: Manage a social media content plan/calendar detailing what content is shared, when and on which channels.
Content Creation: Create engaging, informative, and visually appealing content for platforms including Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, Facebook, and TikTok.
Community Building: Grow and maintain a vibrant and engaged community of followers on all social media platforms.
Organizational Thought Leadership: Contribute to elevating SEforALL's thought leadership by curating and sharing relevant news, articles, and research.
Social Media Analytics: Monitor and report on social media analytics using tools like Buffer and Hootsuite. Use data-driven insights to refine social media strategies.
Campaign Management: Plan and execute social media campaigns to support our projects, events, and initiatives.
Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the organization to ensure social media efforts align with other digital efforts and organizational goals. Liaise externally with partners on joint social media campaigns/efforts.
Feedback and Reputation Management: Monitor any negative sentiments targeted at the organization or staff and relay the same to the communications and leadership teams.
a. Education
A First-level University Degree (Bachelors Degree) in media, marketing, social media, communications, advocacy or a related field is required. An Advanced University Degree (Masters Degree or equivalent) in media, marketing, social media, communications, advocacy or a related field is an asset and may compensate for some years of experience.b. Work Experience & Language Requirements
Minimum two years of professional experience in social media management, with a strong track record of growing and engaging online communities is required.
Experience in managing and creating content for Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, Facebook, and TikTok, and experience developing graphics and videos for use on social media, including reels and GIFs are required.
Proficiency in Adobe design tools such as InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, is a strong asset.
Ability to use social media management tools, such as Buffer and Hootsuite, for analytics and scheduling, and Trello for content planning is desirable.
c. Language
Fluency in English is required.
Working knowledge of another UN official language is an asset.

For staff positions only, UNOPS reserves the right to appoint a candidate at a lower level than the advertised level of the post.
For retainer contracts, you must complete a few mandatory courses ( they take around 4 hours to complete) in your own time, before providing services to UNOPS. Refreshers or new mandatory courses may be required during your contract. Please note that you will not receive any compensation for taking courses and refreshers.
