The International Organization for Migration in the United Kingdom (IOM UK) delivers a range of programming to support migrants, both in the UK and internationally, including projects focusing on labour migration, migration and development, protection, and community cohesion, as well as provision of immigration advice.ย
This position will support IOMโs work under the direct supervision of the Programme Coordinator and the overall guidance of the Chief of Mission of IOM UK. Working in close coordination with relevant country offices, units at our HQ in Geneva, Regional Office in Brussels and unit heads at the IOM London, the incumbent will assist in the planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of relevant migrant support projects managed by IOM London. The incumbent will also liaise with external stakeholders on matters related to communications, project development and reporting as well as may represent IOM in external forums and meetings.

1.ย ย ย ย Assist in the planning, coordination, implementation and monitoring of project activities.ย
2.ย ย ย ย Prepare project monitoring reports for donors.
3.ย ย ย ย Support the management and implementation of programme evaluation, in partnership with academic institution.
4.ย ย ย ย Compile, summarize, analyse, and present information/ data on specific project topics, highlighting issues for the consideration of appropriate parties.
5.ย ย ย ย Support IOM UK and implementing missions to increase M&E capacity in programme design, data collection and reporting, including both quantitative and qualitative approaches.
6.ย ย ย ย Monitor budget implementation and propose adjustments as necessary. ย ย
7.ย ย ย ย Act as focal point for administrative coordination of project implementation, involving extensive liaison with diverse organizational units and external parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, follow-up on administrative actions, etc.
8.ย ย ย ย Draft status reports; identify shortfalls in delivery, bring them to the attention of the supervisor and suggest corrective measures.ย
9.ย ย ย ย Draft correspondence on project issues; prepare and update reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, and other forms of documentation.
10.ย ย ย ย Organize meetings, workshops and training sessions; prepare training materials and participate in the delivering of capacity building workshops.
11.ย ย ย ย Respond to complex information requests and inquiries; set up and maintain files /records.
12.ย ย ย ย Participate in meetings and conferences; maintain effective liaison and coordination with local authorities, partners, United Nation agencies, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, donors and other stakeholders relevant to the project. ย
13.ย ย ย ย Monitor work of implementing partners and report any non-compliance to the supervisor.
14.ย ย ย ย Provide inputs for the development of Standard Operations Procedures (SOP) and concept papers and provide general support for the development of new projects.ย
15.ย ย ย ย Provide guidance/training and assist in coordinating and monitoring work of other staff in the unit;ย
16.ย ย ย ย Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education
โข ย ย ย ย School diploma with six years of relevant experience; or,
โข ย ย ย ย Bachelorโs degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with four years of relevant professional experience.

โข ย ย ย ย Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/ international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations;ย
โข ย ย ย ย Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups; and,
โข ย ย ย ย Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
โข ย ย ย ย Experience working with UK Government Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) funding is an advantage
โข ย ย ย ย Experience working in North Africa is an advantage.
