As part of its activities in Kosovo, IOM engages among others in enhancing migration governance and leveraging the link between migration and sustainable development, sustaining peace and promoting social cohesion.ย
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission and direct supervision of the Programme Coordinator, the incumbent will be responsible and accountable for coordinating project activities with an aim to achieve expected results and in line with IOMโs guidelines related to project development and management.ย
- Conduct research and collect and analyse data on labour mobility trends, challenges, and opportunities.
- Assist in the planning, coordination, implementation and monitoring of project activities.ย
- Compile, summarize, analyse, and present information/data on specific project topics,ย highlighting noteworthy issues for the consideration of appropriate parties.
- Monitor budget implementation and propose adjustments as necessary.ย ย
- Act as focal point for administrative coordination of project implementation, involving extensive liaison with diverse organizational units and external parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, follow-up on administrative actions, etc.
- Draft status reports; identify shortfalls in delivery, bring them to the attention of the supervisor and suggest corrective measures.ย
- Draft correspondence on project issues; prepare and update reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, and other forms of documentation.
- Organize meetings, workshops and training sessions; prepare training materials and participate in the delivering of capacity building workshops.
- Respond to complex information requests and inquiries; set up and maintain files/records.
- Act as labour mobility focal point. Participate in meetings and conferences; maintain effective liaison and coordination with local authorities, partners, United Nation agencies, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, donors and other stakeholders relevant to the project.ย
- Monitor work of implementing partners and report any non-compliance to the supervisor.
- Provide inputs for the development of Standard Operations Procedures (SOP) and concept papers and provide general support for the development of new projects.
- Provides guidance/training and assist in coordinating and monitoring work of other staff in the unit; may supervise other staff as assigned.ย

- High school diploma with six years of relevant experience; or,
- Bachelorโs degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with four years of relevant professional experience. - Experience in working on migration issues, in particular labour migration, including policy development and capacity building.ย
- Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, local institutions, private sector entities, academia and civil society;ย
- Experience in stakeholder engagement and advocacy would be desirable
- Experience in working with migrant workers, diaspora members;
Experience in coordination of projects involving diverse target groups and stakeholders
Skills- Strong understanding of migration and migration related issues, in particular linkages between migration and sustainable development;
- Project management competencies including capacity toย work with minimal supervision, manage own time effectively and maintain control over projects/responsibilities.
- Strong analytical tools and capacity to produce evidence-based reports and papers
- Excellent writing and communication skills, applied in a professional environment;
- Computer literacy, including advance use of MS Office tools and data management tools;
- Ability to timely understand the Organizationโs structure and portfolios. Languages
- Fluency in English, Albanian and/or Serbian (oral and written). IOMโs official languages are English, French and Spanish.
