This position will fall under the overall supervision of the National Resettlement and Complementary Pathways Officer and direct supervision of the Senior Operations Associate.
Under the overall supervision of theย National Resettlement and Complementary Pathways Officerย and direct supervision of theย Senior Operations Associate, the incumbent willย have the following duties and responsibilities:
- Support daily operations in the UK resettlement schemes, pre-paid migrant travel, staff travel, or arrival operations.ย ย Assist supervisors by contributing to arrivals management, receiving and transmitting case-related data, coordinating operations activities with sending/handling missions, CMM (Charter Movement Management and external stakeholders Contribute to the preparation of statistical and analytical reports for management and donor reporting using applications such as MiMOSA, the UK Resettlement App, and ATOMs.
- Support a team of operations staff by contributing to staff development processes such as providing training, assigning duties, and regularly giving feedback on performance to maintain quality and accurate completion of operational activities.
- Serve as theย movement operations focal pointย in coordinationย withย country offices, the Charter Management Unit (CMM), UK donors, the UK Home Office, Ministry of Defence (MOD), IOM staff, airline staff, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor and verify arrival operations,ย including ABNs, Departure Notifications, and Cancellations. Contribute toย verifying that unaccompanied children, vulnerable individuals, and complex medical movement plans adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Track incident reports, alert supervisors to urgent actions required, and provide relevant incident. Monitor pending complex case inventory reports with sending missions and liaise as needed regarding movement plans.
- Support airport operations by assisting with schedule of beneficiaryย movements transiting through London Heathrow (LHR). Contribute to coordinating staff handling logistics for meet-and-assist support for IOM beneficiaries during transit and share transit confirmations with sending and receiving missions. Flag any incidents during transit and provide meet-and-assist support at London LHR as needed, including AVR cases or any other cases requiring IOM support at the airport.
- Support staff travel management by monitoring booking requests and guiding staffย making airline reservations and issuing tickets through Amadeus in accordance with the IOM staff travel policy and STC guidelines. Assist in liaising with airlines and concerned parties regarding flight cancellations, rebooking and transit/destination travel requirements. Contribute to maintainingย IOM staff travel log,ย ensuring accuracy of theย entries in ATOMs, and supporting follow-up on ticket refunds andย vendor invoice reconciliation.
- Assist in team coordination by helping organise regular operations meetings, identifying technical challenges or SOPs issues and liaising with theย supervisors to propose practical solutions. Support workflow monitoring by ensuring activities are completed in a timely manner providing regular feedback to management through data, reports and sharing best practices.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of IOM UK Operations Standard operating Procedures (SOPs) and the UK resettlement chapter of the MMM. Support training arrangements for the UK Operations team and staff from other IOM missions on UK SOPs and procedures.ย
- Demonstrate knowledge of applicable SOPs, related systems and databases, and IOM Standards of Conduct. Maintain and ensure the confidentiality and integrity of all relevant paperwork in line with SOPs, Standards of Conduct and relevant data protection rules. Alert management of any non-compliance with SOPs or codes of conduct by staff members.ย
- Apply RMM Protection Mainstreaming Minimum Standards while carrying out all duties and responsibilities and demonstrate the ability to remain professional, impartial and unbiased during all interactions with migrants and colleagues per the IOM Standards of Conduct and instruction on the prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA).ย Alert the supervisor or management of any issues of non-compliance to SOPs, RMM Protection Mainstreaming Minimum Standards or IOM Standards of Conduct by IOM personnel or partners.
- Undertake duty travel as needed to participate in meetings, trainings and other programme activities, supporting their planning and facilitation.

- High school diploma with six years of work experience; or,ย
- Bachelorโs degree in social science, International Relations, Migration Studies, International Development or a related field from an accredited academic institution with four years of relevant work experience.ย ย Accredited Universities are those listed in theย UNESCO World Higher Education Database. ย Experience
- Familiarity with UK resettlement schemes.
- Prior experience in Movement Operations, and expertise in relocation or resettlement programmes is strongly preferred
- Experience of working refugee/migrant sector organisations and experience of liaison with governmental/international bodies and private sector entities preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in IOM-RMM proprietary tools and systems and experience with handling complex cases and workflow in movement management an added advantage
- Experience with supervising a team is essential. Skills
- Computer/software literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to use technology and technology driven solutions essential.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to effectively communicate with and lead a teamย
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail and ability to organise own work and that of a team.
- Self-motivated, objective-driven, and able to use own initiative and work under pressure with minimum supervision.
- Ability to gather and analyse data using data dashboards and data visualisation tools.
- Flexibility and willingness to work occasionally outside of regular working hours, including weekends, when required. Languages ย IOMโs official languages are English, French and Spanish. Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments. ย

- Working knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish) is an advantage.
