Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission for IOM Coordination Office for North Pacific and under the direct supervision of the Head of Resources Management in Pohnpei, Federated States of Micronesia, the incumbent will be responsible for providing the necessary ICT support for the mission in Pohnpei and remote sub-offices in the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands and the Republic of Palau.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Install, configure, implement and administer network connectivity (LAN/WAN/Wireless access/  VPN). - Assist in the planning and development of IT networks and system infrastructure including telecoms, identifying and proactively recommending required upgrades and modifications ensuring consistent service availability.
- ย Undertake daily monitoring and maintenance of systems and networks (LAN, WAN, VPN and Internet), ensuring uninterrupted service of mission-critical ICT systems.
- Administer and configure the SharePoint Online site of the mission and provide access to the users based on the need.
- Liaise with service providers for the provision of adequate IT services and supplies for the mission.
- Maintain an up-to-date ICT inventory (hardware and software) and inform the supervisor on assets that require replacement and software license renewal in a timely manner based on the related IOM ICT standards and guidelines.
- Produce and maintain comprehensive ICT documentation and reference materials for the mission.ย
- Receive and address all the user support requests on a timely manner with the corresponding allocation of resources.ย
- Support the implementation of IOM ICT standards, policies, and guidelines with regards to implementation of network systems, IT security, software licensing, telecoms and ICT procurement.ย
- Implement, when necessary, IT training to the other IT staff and end users to ensure productive use of existing and new ICT systems.ย
- Provide guidance and information to the end users on the phishing, password cracking, malwares, etc., following the related ICT standards and guidelines.ย
- Strictly comply to IOMโs policies and procedures including prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse and promotion of a respectful work environment.ย
- Undertake duty travel as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.   Education   - Bachelorโs degreeย in computer science, telecommunications, electronic engineering, and two years of relevant experience as mentioned above; or
- High school certificate, and four years of relevant experience administrating Cloud based services (AWS or Azure), Windows Server 2016 and LAN/WAN networking environment.  Any of the above qualifications plus the following will be an advantage: - AWS or Azure Cloud Certification (Associate)
- Microsoft Certification (MCP or above) in Windows Server 2016 or Active Directory (preferable)
- Other industry certifications such as CCNA+, Avaya, CompTIA Network+, VCP or ITIL.    Accredited Universities are those listed in theย UNESCO World Higher Education Database.   ย    Experience   - Four years of relevant experience administrating Windows Server 2016 and LAN/WAN networking environment
- Extensive experience in direct user technical support and computer, network and communication equipment troubleshooting
- Proven experience supporting Office 365 and cloud-based solutions in AWS or Azi    Skills   - Identify, diagnose and troubleshoot end-user computerโs problems including Windows Operating Systems, Cisco VPN Connectivity, Microsoft Office, etc. Including remote troubleshooting tools
- Manage users in Active Directory, Exchange Server and Officer 365
- Capacity to configure networking equipment including switches, firewalls, routers (e.g. Cisco, Riverbed).
- Knowledge in administering corporate antivirus and corporate backup systems.
- Experience with ITIL-based service desk ticketing systems
- Creation of users, extensions and overall administration of telephone switchboard systems
- Managing videoconferencing systems (e.g. Webex, Polycom)
- Experience troubleshooting macOS and macOS-based applications
- SAP troubleshooting experience will be considered an advantage.
