Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission for IOM Micronesia and under the direct supervision of the Resource Management Officer in Pohnpei, Federated States of Micronesia, the incumbent will be responsible for providing the necessary information and communication technology (ICT) support for the mission in Pohnpei and remote sub-offices in the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands and the Republic of Palau.
- Install, configure, implement and administer network connectivity (LAN/WAN/Wireless access/VPN).
- Assist in the planning and development of IT networks and system infrastructure including telecoms, identifying and proactively recommending required upgrades and modifications ensuring consistent service accountability.
- Produce and maintain comprehensive ICT documentation and reference materials for the mission.
- Receive and address all the user support requests on a timely manner with the corresponding allocation of resources.
- Support the implementation of IOM ICT standards, policies, and guidelines with regards to implementation of network systems, IT security, software licensing, telecoms and ICT procurement.
- Implement, when necessary, IT training to the other IT staff and end users to ensure productive use of existing and new ICT systems.
- Provide guidance and information to the end users on the phishing, password cracking, malwares, etc., following the related ICT standards and guidelines.
- Strictly comply to IOMโs policies and procedures including prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse and promotion of a respectful work environment.
- Undertake daily monitoring and maintenance of systems and networks (LAN, WAN, VPN and Internet), ensuring uninterrupted service of mission-critical ICT systems.
- Administer and configure the SharePoint Online site of the mission and provide access to the users based on the need.
- Liaise with service providers for the provision of adequate IT services and supplies for the mission.
- Maintain an up-to-date ICT inventory (hardware and software) and inform the supervisor on assets that require replacement and software license renewal in a timely manner based on the related IOM ICT standards and guidelines.
- Undertake duty travel as required.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Required Qualifications Experience
Education:
- Bachelorโs degree in information technology, computer science or computer-related major with at least four years of relevant work experience; or
- High school diploma with at least six years of relevant work experience.
Experience and Skills:
- Experience in Microsoft M365 tools and Windows operating system.
