We invite competent, experienced, and committed professionals to fill the following position:
The Security and Safety Specialist will ensure that the standard security requirements of Plan International Pilipinas are implemented and enforced. He/she will coordinate the effective assessment, design, implementation and evaluation of security policies, processes and procedures that aim to further improve Planโs overall security management in Mindanao; strengthen the security management structure of Plan International Pilipinas in Mindanao, with occasional support to the Country Office and to other program areas of Plan International Pilipinas.
Further, as the Security and Safety Specialist:
You will be responsible for improving the overall preventive security management, aligned with national management standards. You will provide timely advice to the various Program Operations Managers regarding all security related issues and liaise with the Director of Business Support as overall focal point for the country. You will advice and assist the relevant staff in the development of appropriate security plans and procedures in accordance with the standard security requirements and based on sound security threat and risk assessments. You will represent Plan International Pilipinas on security related issues, in relevant networks, and to partners/donors. Plan International is a development and humanitarian organization. In exceptional cases, you will be asked to provide support and advice to emergency response activities in Plan-covered communities, on security-related issues.
DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
To be successful in the role you will need among other things:
Degree or Diploma and 2-3 years' relevant professional experience, or demonstrated equivalent combination. Training on security management; Certified in basic life support, preferably on paramedic level. Five (5) yearsโ experience in a similarly wide-ranging role. Past field experience in humanitarian security work, particularly in Mindanao. At least 2 years work experience in an NGO. Experience in conducting participatory risk assessments and preparing situational context analysis. Experience in working with child-focused development organization will be an advantage. Has sound analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Able to influence othersโ behavior through effective relationship building. Good computer applications knowledge. Flexible and has a good command of both oral and written English and good human relations. Able to communicate technical concepts clearly to a non-technical audience. Applicants must be based in the Philippines and a Filipino national.
Location: Cotabato City, Maguindanao (base), with frequent travel to other program offices
