Learn more at www.irff.undp.org To build the resilience of food systems and smallholder farmers, UNDP IRFF is implementing the Financial Resilience in Agriculture Initiative (FRA) in partnership with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF). Working with public and private partners in Bangladesh, Ethiopia, India, Uganda and the United Republic of Tanzania, UNDP is bolstering the financial resilience and adaptation capacities of smallholder farmers against climate-related adversities through the design and implementation of innovative agricultural insurance programmes, anchored within a broader development agenda. Through the FRA global platform, which acts as a platform for knowledge and resource mobilization, UNDP offers technical and engagement support to other countries around the world. The UN Volunteer assignment supports the development and management of research and knowledge management systems of the global platform to enhance monitoring and evaluation processes, ensuring that generated materials effectively inform and optimize in-country implementation strategies. The Insurance and Risk Finance Facility is powered by a global team of development leaders, insurance and risk finance specialists, campaigners and coordinators with strong leadership from regional and national project teams in each of our programme countries. This assignment is an outposted assignment in UNDP Office in Rome, Italy, where IRFF colleagues are based.

Task DescriptionWithin the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Value Chain Resilience Specialist or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the Research, Knowledge and Monitoring Officer will contribute to; Knowledge Management • Assist in collecting and organizing best practices, lessons learned, and success stories from projects. • Support the creation of case studies, fact sheets, and knowledge briefs for internal and external sharing. • Maintain and update knowledge repositories, databases, and digital libraries. • Organize and categorize documents and reports to ensure easy access. • Help draft newsletters, bulletins, or knowledge-sharing updates. • Assist in planning and coordinating knowledge-sharing sessions, webinars, and online discussions. • Ensure consistency in formatting and structure of reports, guidelines, and toolkits. • Support the development of templates and style guides for documentation. • Collaborate with teams and external partners to facilitate knowledge exchange. • Contribute to fostering a knowledge-sharing culture by assisting with training sessions. • Help manage and update knowledge management platforms (e.g., intranet, document storage systems). • Research and recommend digital tools for organizing and retrieving knowledge. • Collect feedback from users to improve knowledge-sharing processes. • Assist in gathering information from FRA library and country implementation cases to support event and workshop planning. Research and Analysis • Conduct basic research on global best practices, policies, and regulatory frameworks. • Support analysis of market trends and emerging sector developments. • Assist in gathering and summarizing qualitative and quantitative data. • Conduct literature reviews and compile key findings. • Compare country-specific data with international benchmarks. • Identify key themes and trends from research and stakeholder interviews. • Help assess the effectiveness of policies and programs using available data. • Assist in tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and program progress. • Draft analytical reports, briefing notes, and summaries based on findings. • Support the development of research-based recommendations for decision-makers. • Identify key stakeholders and potential collaboration opportunities.. M&E Support for Country-Level Programs- Country Implementation • Assist in documenting project progress and gathering data for decision-making. • Support evaluations by compiling findings and assisting in report preparation. • Help strengthen data collection and analysis processes in collaboration with the M&E team. • Track country-level program activities and assist in gathering implementation evidence. • Organize country-specific data to support program improvements.

The Summary of UNV Entitlement (National UN Youth Volunteer ): Paid in EUR ● Current Monthly Living Allowance (MLA) is EUR 2609.58 ● Private insurance: Health, dental, life and dismemberment coverage by CIGNA. ● Entry allowance: USD 400 ● Exit allowance: Upon the satisfactory completion of the assignment ● Free access to different learning platforms and the UN & UNV network Leave entitlements: ●Annual leave: 2.5 days accrued per calendar month ●Certified sick leave: UN Volunteers are entitled to up to 30 days of certified sick leave based on a 12-month cycle.
