Learn more at www.irff.undp.org To build the resilience of food systems and smallholder farmers, UNDP IRFF is implementing the Financial Resilience in Agriculture Initiative (FRA) in partnership with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF). Working with public and private partners in Bangladesh, Ethiopia, India, Uganda and the United Republic of Tanzania, UNDP is bolstering the financial resilience and adaptation capacities of smallholder farmers against climate-related adversities through the design and implementation of innovative agricultural insurance programmes, anchored within a broader development agenda. Through the FRA global platform, which acts as a platform for knowledge and resource mobilization, UNDP offers technical and engagement support to other countries around the world. The UN Volunteer assignment supports the development and management of research and knowledge management systems of the global platform to enhance monitoring and evaluation processes, ensuring that generated materials effectively inform and optimize in-country implementation strategies. The Insurance and Risk Finance Facility is powered by a global team of development leaders, insurance and risk finance specialists, campaigners and coordinators with strong leadership from regional and national project teams in each of our programme countries. This assignment is an outposted assignment in UNDP Office in Rome, Italy, where IRFF colleagues are based.
Task DescriptionWithin the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Value Chain Resilience Specialist or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the Research, Knowledge and Monitoring Officer will contribute to; Knowledge Management โข Assist in collecting and organizing best practices, lessons learned, and success stories from projects. โข Support the creation of case studies, fact sheets, and knowledge briefs for internal and external sharing. โข Maintain and update knowledge repositories, databases, and digital libraries. โข Organize and categorize documents and reports to ensure easy access. โข Help draft newsletters, bulletins, or knowledge-sharing updates. โข Assist in planning and coordinating knowledge-sharing sessions, webinars, and online discussions. โข Ensure consistency in formatting and structure of reports, guidelines, and toolkits. โข Support the development of templates and style guides for documentation. โข Collaborate with teams and external partners to facilitate knowledge exchange. โข Contribute to fostering a knowledge-sharing culture by assisting with training sessions. โข Help manage and update knowledge management platforms (e.g., intranet, document storage systems). โข Research and recommend digital tools for organizing and retrieving knowledge. โข Collect feedback from users to improve knowledge-sharing processes. โข Assist in gathering information from FRA library and country implementation cases to support event and workshop planning.
