The Genome Centre at icddr,b is a cutting-edge facility specializing in genomic research, pathogen surveillance, and public health genomics. Leveraging advanced sequencing technologies, it investigates infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance (AMR), and beneficial microbes, both in Bangladesh and globally. The centreโs scientists lead and collaborate on research as principal investigators, co-PIs, and co-investigators, partnering with national and international institutions as well as other divisions within icddr,b. Additionally, it plays a vital role in outbreak response, pathogen genomics, and strengthening genomic research capacity.
Position Description:
The Research Assistant will report to the Research Investigator and will be responsible for performing bioinformatics analyses, including sequence data processing and interpretation. Key responsibilities include developing and optimizing bioinformatics pipelines, troubleshooting analytical workflows, and contributing to preparing scientific manuscripts and presentations within the guidelines of project-specific research procedures and organizational values and guidelines. Required qualifications and experience:
Bachelor's in Microbiology/Genetic Engineering/Biotechnology/Biochemistry with good academic records. At least 1 year of laboratory experience in microbial sequence data analysis. Publication(s) in peer-reviewed international journals is preferred.Location: Mohakhali, Dhaka.

Contract Type and Duration:
Short Term Contractual Service Agreement basis; duration will be 6 months with a possibility of extension, subject to the availability of funds and performance.Salary & benefits:
