INTRODUCTION TO GGGI

The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is a treaty-based international, inter-governmental organization dedicated to supporting and promoting strong, inclusive and sustainable economic growth in developing countries and emerging economies. To learn more please visit about GGGI web page.

GGGI works closely with governments, development partners, and the private sector to design and deliver programs, policies, and investment projects that promote low-carbon, climate-resilient development. With 52 Member States, GGGI focuses on translating national green growth strategies into bankable projects and mobilizing the finance needed to implement them.

Between 2015 and 2024, GGGI enabled the mobilization of US$15 billion towards its Memberโ€™s SDG and NDC goals, of which 60% from private sector financing. These include the worldโ€™s first Resilience Bond, and largest Debt for Nature Swap. GGGIโ€™s work contributed to a reduction of 143 MtCO2eq in emissions and increased climate resilience for 50 million people. Since its establishment in 2010, GGGI has managed over USD 350 million of donor funds, including bilateral, multilateral, and international climate funds.
