    DUTY STATION (City, Country): Djibouti, Republic of Djibouti

    DURATION: 12 months

    REPORTING LINE: Head of Finance & Management Services

    ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT:

    WFP's strategy in Djibouti is aligned with Djibouti Vision 2035 and takes into account the African Union's regional strategies, in particular Agenda 2063 and the Malabo Declaration on Accelerated Agricultural Growth, and IGAD's sub-regional strategies. It is also aligned with the UNDAF for 2018-2022 and builds on the relevant recommendations of the Zero Hunger Strategic Review. The fight against poverty is a major avenue for tackling food insecurity in Djibouti. Agricultural potential is limited, but the agriculture, livestock and fisheries sectors offer opportunities for direct assistance to rural households exposed to food insecurity and malnutrition.

    The two pillars of the WFP's strategy are as follows:

    - Providing equitable employment for women and men in the most vulnerable households.

    - Using safety nets to ensure access to assistance that meets basic needs, including food security.

    JOB PURPOSE:

    To support the stewardship of WFPโ€™s resources, monitoring budgets, forecasting, analyzing, reporting and providing core administrative support to enable effective management of funds, and ensure assistance to beneficiaries is undertaken in the most efficient and effective way possible.
