DescriptionOverview We are seeking a Proposal Development Specialist in the Business and Proposal department within the Social, Statistical, and Environmental Sciences unit. This role will coordinate all aspects of proposal production and assist the Proposal Leader with various proposal activities. This is a remote position or can sit at RTIโs Headquarters in RTP, NC. Responsibilities Apply best practice processes based on working knowledge of fundamental principles, terminology, and methodology of proposal development and/or writing. Develop and organize multiple ongoing proposal schedules and revise with input from proposal team members. Track and communicate proposal progress throughout each proposal cycle; provide continual support driving toward solutions. Coordinate, manage, and document milestone/gate review meetings; facilitate resolution of issues raised and communicate action items moving forward. Prepare proposal responsibility matrix of requirements outlining items needed for compliance, write proposal sections of limited technical complexity, and gather background information to support proposal efforts. Assist the Proposal Leader in securing proposal team resources; assist business partners in addressing their questions (editing, subcontracts, contracts, pricing, etc.). Help to define and communicate proposal strategy. Coordinate all aspects of hard copy proposal production. Review technical content to ensure compliance with solicitation and/or customer requirements before submission Support all post-submission activities such as lessons learned, debriefings, client question and answer, and oral presentation preparation. Apply critical thinking/problem-solving skills; initiate ownership of more challenging tasks; must be self-sufficient and able to troubleshoot independently; needs minimal supervision. Qualifications Master of Public Health and 1 year of experience or a Bachelorโs degree and 4 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience; including Internships Experience in Federal Government contracting Excellent knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, PPT, Excel, SharePoint, Copilot) Excellent knowledge of AI proposal tools Knowledge of fundamental principles, terminology, and methodology of proposal development and/or writing. Knowledge of proposal management conventions. Ability to work closely within a trusted team environment where sharing and teamwork are valued. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure; proactive, resourceful, and efficient, with a high level of professionalism. Excellent project management, organizational, and general โpeople skillsโ; including strong written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of fundamental principles, terminology, and methodology in Environmental Sciences and Public Health.
