In close collaboration with national and local authorities and experienced Partners, through the HELIOS+ project IOM aims at promoting the integration of beneficiaries of international protection and temporary protection into the Greek society through activities for employability support, the provision of Greek language courses and vocational training, the support for independent living, including rental subsidies, activities promoting social cohesion and inclusion.

Under the overall supervision of the National Project Officer and the direct supervision of the Regional Coordinator (Peloponnese), the successful candidate will have the following duties and responsibilities:

  1. Supervise and provide guidance and instructions to the respective direct reports.
  2. Ensure that a properly equipped and safe working environment is available for the assigned Project Team.
  3. Perform relevant checks and approve the enrolment of the beneficiaries in the project.
  4. Develop the methodology and create tools, materials and standard operating procedures and oversee their implementation to ensure the provision of quality services and monitoring of the project activities.
  5. Monitor the quality of services/ project activities provided by the assigned project team, and by the Implementing Partner as applicable, through physical verification, project Means of Verification, visits and report to senior management, as required.
  6. Collaborate with other Project components, IOM departments, the Reception and Identification Service (RIS) and other relevant actors, by setting common goals, to ensure timely, harmonized and efficient provision of project activities.
  7. Coordinate, collaborate and ensure efficient communication with the Implementing Partner as assigned. Liaise and coordinate with the Implementing Partner to ensure timely and qualitative delivery of services, including information provision and logistical arrangements.
  8. Collect, verify and update of data and Means of Verification as well as the timely submission of reports and any other necessary information to senior management.
  9. Continuously assess the needs of the project component and report to senior management in a timely and accurate manner, to ensure informed decision-making.
  10. Represent the project in relevant meetings with the committees established by the Donor, other State and non-State Stakeholders and/or Working Groups.
  11. Participate in drafting reports to the Donor, in a timely and efficient manner.
  12. Perform any other related duties as may be assigned.

    Note: Under Integration the position is leading the services related to Sensitization and Social Cohesion.

    Education
    • High School Diploma with minimum four years of relevant working experience; or,
    • University degree in psychology, social work, law, sociology, social anthropology management and business administration, public administration, or any other related field from an accredited academic institution with minimum two years of work experience.
    • Masterโ€™s degree in the above fields will be considered an advantage.Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.ย Experience
      • At least two years of previous work experience;
      • Possess adequate combination of knowledge, education, training experience and skills to perform essential functions of the position;
      • Computer literacy in standard software applications;
      • Experience in working in a multi-cultural environment preferred.ย

        • Strong work ethics and commitment to humanitarian principles;
        • Valid driverโ€™s license with at least five years driving experience an advantage.Languages
