ContextUNDP Indonesiaโ€™s Business and Human Rights (BHR) project supports the government's implementation of the National Strategy on Business and Human Rights (Stranas BHAM), which aims to promote responsible business conduct across all sectors and levels in Indonesia. Youth engagement is a critical part of this effort, ensuring young people are empowered to understand, communicate, and advocate for responsible business practices in ways that are accessible and relatable. This assignment will enable the selected Online Volunteerโ€”who has a strong academic background in human rights and developmentโ€”to gain exposure to the workings of a UNDP project, contribute to strategic thinking around youth-focused communication materials, and observe real-time policy discussions and project development efforts.

Task DescriptionWe are seeking one Online Volunteer to provide support to the UNDP Indonesia Business and Human Rights (BHR) team in strengthening youth engagement, campaign initiatives, and policy development work streams. Under the guidance of the BHR Project Manager, the Online Volunteer is provided an opportunity to: - Provide first-draft inputs and perspectives in the development of youth-friendly materials on Business and Human Rights; - Support initial review and ideation of youth-targeted campaign activities and outreach strategies; - Participate in selected coordination and brainstorming sessions with the BHR team and partners to observe project planning processes; - Assist in compiling and organizing reference materials on Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD), with potential hands-on engagement in self-assessment tool indicator development. The Online Volunteer will not be expected to handle any direct responsibilities or administrative tasks but will contribute primarily through feedback, observations, and ideas. It is hoped that through this assignment, the volunteer - particularly those with interest in the field - will get a taste of advancing the responsible business agenda in Indonesia through shadowing the project team's activities.
