GGGIโ€™s Caribbean portfolio currently includes county programs in the Dominican Republic and Guyana as well a program supporting Eastern Caribbean States managed out of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Commission in Saint Lucia. All GGGIโ€™s Caribbean programs provide embedded advisory support to member governments aimed at developing effective policies and strategic plans and mobilizing sustainable finance for implementation of priority plans and projects.

In Saint Lucia, GGGI has been collaborating with government Departments including Finance, Economic Development, Housing and Infrastructure among others, and other national institutions and development partners to deliver on the countryโ€™s vision to address its national housing deficit and improve the resilience of the housing stock through the provision of resilient, green and affordable housing. The technical assistance and ongoing project support that GGGI is delivering in Saint Lucia, has been recognized by donors who have a keen interest to support the scale-up of sustainable housing initiatives in other Eastern Caribbean (EC) countries.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Project Senior Assistant will assist the GGGI team working to deliver the ongoing resilient housing projects in the EC region and he/she will report to the Senior Green Housing Officer.

PURPOSE

The Project Senior Assistant will be responsible for supporting the implementation of GGGIโ€™s Resilient Green Affordable Housing projects in EC countries including Saint Lucia, Grenada and Dominica. To ensure successful delivery of defined project activities and outputs, he/she will assist with all administrative, logistical, event management, stakeholder engagement, coordination and outreach activities. He/she is also expected to support project implementation, reporting and communication with internal and external stakeholders in line with GGGIโ€™s corporate policies, standards and protocols.

ENGAGEMENT

Report to the Green Housing Senior Officer (Project Manager) and work closely with GGGI officers/consultants based in each project country to complete all administrative, operational and logistical tasks relating to the implementation of the Resilient Green Affordable Housing projects.

Under the guidance of the Green Housing Senior Officer, maintain effective relationships and engagement with key stakeholders including government and private sector.

Collaborate with the wider Eastern Caribbean program and project teams to ensure effective delivery of outputs and activities.

Collaborate with other country teams, units and divisions of GGGI on identified joint activity opportunities to ensure integrated delivery as โ€œOne GGGIโ€.

DELIVERY

Assist with the preparation of stakeholder engagement plans and maintain an updated directory of all project stakeholders.

Work with the project team to engage stakeholders including, government partners, private sector, and regional and international partners and attend and participate in meetings with stakeholders, donors and partners.

Under the guidance of the project manager, support the completion of the logistical arrangements for events including knowledge sharing sessions, workshops, project steering committee meetings and bi-lateral meetings. Key tasks to include but are not limited to scheduling meetings, coordinating invitations and securing participation, coordinating travel, preparing agendas and minutes and conducting necessary follow-up post meeting.

Under the guidance of the Communications and Knowledge Sharing Senior Assistant, contribute to the development and dissemination of communications, outreach and knowledge project activities/outputs.

Assist the Green Housing Senior Officer/Project Manager in the preparation of budgets, financial reports and technical reports.

Contribute to the development and monitoring of the project workplan including updating of project tasks and activities.

Maintain up-to-date files, records, and other documentation for the duration of the project.

Conduct day-to-day administration activities necessary for the successful implementation of the program.

REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS

Must be a citizen of Saint Lucia or holding a valid work visa.

Undergraduate academic degree in project management, business management, economics, international/sustainable development or related fields.

At least 2-3 yearsโ€™ experience in project planning and implementation, project administration and communications.

Experience and demonstrated capacity in stakeholder relations and managing expectations of project partners/beneficiaries.

Fluency in English; excellent writing and presentation preparation skills are essential.

Working fluency in other languages, particularly French and/ or Spanish would be an asset.

Overall understanding of the concept of green growth and climate change in the context of developing countries and emerging economies.

Experience in project cycle management, including using online systems and software for project management and reporting is desirable.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Experience working in development settings would be an asset.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The Project Senior Assistant is an X5 grade level in GGGIโ€™s Saint Lucia national salary scale. The salary range for the position starts at USD 24,097 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. GGGI provides 15% of base salary towards retirement plan/long-term savings, 27 days of annual leave, and private health insurance that covers dental and vision.
