About the Country Program in Zambia
Action Against Hunger has been operational in Zambia since 2021 implementing both development and humanitarian programmes through a multi-sectoral strategy where Nutrition, Health, Food Security and Livelihoods, WASH and Protection, Gender and psychosocial support are integrated to have a meaningful impact on people\u2019s resilience.
Purpose
Provide leadership for the Strengthening Livelihood and Resilience of Smallholder Farmers to climate change in Southern Province, Zambia-(SLARF)
Key Activity Areas
\u00b7ย ย ย ย ย ย Provide overall leadership and direction for project implementation.
\u00b7ย ย ย ย ย ย Ensure project goals align with national policies and climate adaptation strategies.
\u00b7ย ย ย ย ย ย Develop and maintain partnerships with government agencies, donors, NGOs, and private sector actors.
\u00b7ย ย ย ย ย ย Ensure smooth integration of climate-smart agriculture, food security, and nutrition interventions.
\u00b7ย ย ย ย ย ย Oversee project budget, financial management, and donor reporting.
\u00b7ย ย ย ย ย ย Lead project visibility, representation in coordination platforms, and advocacy efforts.
Requirements
Required Qualifications and Professional Experience
\u00b7ย Degree in agriculture, Climate Change, Environmental Science, Nutrition, Public Policy, or related field. Master\u2019s degree will be an added advantage
\u00b7ย Experience working closely with Government preferably familiarity with Ministry of Agriculture, and knowledge of GIZ programs an added advantage.
\u00b7ย ย At least 7\u201310 years of experience in managing agriculture, climate resilience, or food security projects.
\u00b7ย Strong background in stakeholder engagement and multi-sector coordination.
\u00b7ย ย Experience in integrating nutrition-sensitive agriculture into rural development programs.
\u00b7ย ย Membership with a relevant professional body

\u00b7ย ย ย ย Excellent experience in report writing, donor rules and regulations, validation procedures, process coordination.
\u00b7ย ย ย ย Proven management, advocacy and coordination skills (people and process management).
\u00b7ย ย ย ย Excellent writing and analytical skills
\u00b7ย ย ย ย Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision, under pressure and under tight deadlines
\u00b7ย ย ย ย Capacity building and facilitation skills
\u00b7ย ย ย ย Bi-lingual with excellent knowledge of English and any of the local language
\u00b7ย ย ย ย Able to build effective working relationships at all levels.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervises three (3) staff ensuring that they have the necessary technical knowledge and skills \u2013 organizing and implementing coaching and training as needed, both for individuals and the entire team. Delivers scheduled Performance Appraisals for all direct reports.
Fiscal Responsibilities
Prepares and administers the project budget and financial report for the Project and country office.ย
