The Sustainable Landscape Programme Indonesia (SLPI) is a bilateral initiative funded by Switzerland’s State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) and implemented in partnership with four landscape projects across key jurisdictional areas in Kalimantan and Sumatra. The program aims to strengthen good governance and sustainable management of landscapes, integrating natural ecosystem conservation with improved agricultural production and economic opportunities for local communities.
SLPI is structured into two components:
- Component 1: Focuses on implementing sustainable landscape interventions in selected districts, with four independent landscape projects led by various consortiums.
- Component 2: Led by UNDP Indonesia, serves as the Program Support System, ensuring coordination, knowledge-sharing, capacity-building, and engagement with national and sub-national stakeholders.
The program promotes a jurisdictional approach to landscape management, fostering collaboration between government agencies, private sector actors, smallholder farmers, and civil society organizations to achieve sustainable palm oil production, ecosystem restoration, and improved livelihoods.
To enhance strategic communication and knowledge dissemination, UNDP seeks to hire a Project Communication Associate to support awareness-building, stakeholder engagement, and visibility of SLPI’s impacts at both national and international levels. The role will be crucial in documenting lessons learned, developing communication materials, and supporting outreach efforts to promote SLPI’s contribution to sustainable landscape governance in Indonesia.
Under the overall guidance of the SLPI Project Officer, the Project Assistant provides an effective project support services ensuring high quality of work, ensures accurate monitoring and evaluation data, timely and properly recorded/documented service delivery within the management and operations (finance, assets management, administration, procurement, human resources/HR) of the project, and implementation of project activities in accordance with UNDP rules and regulations, and awareness-raising, capacity building and advocacy activities in national and subnational level.
Scope of Work
a. Support the project team to ensure effective project planning, budgeting and implementation focusing on achievement of the following results
• Compiles, summarizes, and presents basic information/data on specific project and related topics or issues.
• Reviews project documents for completeness and compliance with relevant rules and procedures prior to submission for final approval and signature; identifies inconsistencies; distributes project documents to relevant parties upon approval.
• Implement project standard operating procedures in line with the government and UNDP’s regulations.b. Support to the effective reporting on progress of project implementation
• Support to the preparation of annual and quarterly work plans as well as project board meetings, audit, operational and financial closure of a project.
• Support to the preparation of quarterly project reports, in line with the monitoring and reporting guidelines and presents it to the project assurance team on a timely manner.
• To provide administrative support for preparation of results oriented progress reports.c. Provides administrative support to the Project Management Unit focusing on achievement of the following results:
• Support the collaboration of project team to design and conduct internal evaluation, and survey, be part of its implementation which include facilitating participatory evaluation with key stakeholders, assist in the analysis process and completion of the project.
• Assist and support Projects in advising the project team based on the research results for enhancing the project effectiveness as well as provide technical advice and support.
• Assist and support Projects in developing progress and annual report to Donors and UNDP.
• Assist and support Projects in updating progress of output, activities, and risk in Quantum System.d. Provides communications support to the Project Management unit focusing on achievement of the following results:
• Provide support to Projects and work closely with Communications Unit to develop and compliance of function specific documentation (e.g., drafting and editing social media posts, Individuals bi- annual newsletter, publication copies, digital, and hard-copy appeals, articles etc.), as required.
• Assist Projects in preparing project events related with promotional, advocacy and awareness raising materials, including to collect and compile significant information and evident from project implementation processes and results as main sources for developing
communication materials.
• Support in updating database of Projects with relevant public and development partners private sector, civil society and other stakeholders who are counterparts for the project. Monitor and evaluate the use and effectiveness of media materials and share results and findings.
• Provide support to conduct media tracking, to collect and cluster news and/or articles related to the project to supplement the project report.
• Support to review project documents for completeness and compliance with relevant rules and procedures prior to submission for final approval and signature; identifies inconsistencies; distributes project documents to relevant parties upon approval.
• Conceive and draft of files, graphics, and/or illustrations for visual media, including web, social media, and print.e. Support strategic partnerships, communication and support to the implementation of resource mobilization
• Support in updating database of the relevant public and development partners private sector, civil society and other stakeholders who are counterparts for the project.
• In coordination with UNDP’s Communication unit and other relevant counterpart communications department, support documentation of the project activities as a tool to communicate results, deepen stakeholder knowledge and buy-in to the project, and resource mobilization for the project.
• Effective contribution and support of with data collection for gender analysis and gender mainstreaming at project level.f. Supports knowledge building and knowledge sharing focusing on achievement of the following results:
