ย Context
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Brazil is implementing various projects addressing the protection, assistance, and integration needs of migrants, refugees and other vulnerable populations in Brazil. The Programme Support Unit provides support to enable effective programme and project management, in close coordination with the Chief of Mission and senior management, Resource Management staff, Project Coordinators, Regional Office and Headquarters staff, as well as with Government counterparts and other relevant public/private sectorโs partner organizations.ย ย
Under the direct supervision of the Coordinator of the Programme Support Unit and in close coordination with the Project Assistant (Programme Support Unit), the successful candidate will be primarily responsible for assisting with and contributing to the overall activities and tasks carried out by the Programme Support Unit. In particular, the person will have the following responsibilities:ย
- Support the Programme Support Unit with administrative tasks (e.g., identify and track follow-up actions; administrative and procurement actions as required).ย
- Support with Knowledge Management related tasks, which may include updating spreadsheets, organizing Sharepoint pages and folders, and keeping relevant documents up to date, as well as fostering knowledge and experience sharing, including the collection, curation, and dissemination of good practices, lessons learned, and relevant information on IOM Brazil projects and initiatives.ย
- Support administrative tasks performed in PRIMA related to project development, reporting and monitoring.ย ย
- Support text revision, editing and translation (Portuguese, Spanish, English) of documents relevant to IOM projects and activities.ย
- Provide notetaking of important meetings and keep records of activities within the Programme Support Unit.ย ย
- Interact with other IOM units on relevant activities.ย ย
- Undertake all other tasks as may be assigned.ย ย
Educationย
ย Required:
- Highschool diploma with at least 3 years of relevant experience; or,
ย Experienceย
ย Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.ย Experience in translation of technical and business documents.ย Experience in technical writing, editing, and reporting.ย Experience supporting projects in the areas of human rights, migration, and development, in either public or private sector, international organizations or civil society.ย ย Experience working with government, civil society, the UN, or private sector actors is desirable.ยSkillsย
