Organizational Context

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is the worldโ€™s largest humanitarian organization, with a network of 191-member National Societies. The Programme Support and Information Management Consultant will play a critical role in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of humanitarian interventions by providing strategic support in data management, analysis, and reporting. This consultancy aims to strengthen programmatic decision-making by ensuring the timely collection, processing, and visualization of key information, enabling evidence-based actions. The consultant will support the coordination of multiple projects, streamline reporting mechanisms, and optimize data-driven workflows to enhance accountability and operational effectiveness. This role is particularly crucial in dynamic humanitarian contexts, where accurate and accessible information is essential for effective response planning and resource allocation.

Project objectives
1. Enhance Information Management โ€“ Establish and maintain efficient data collection, processing, and visualization systems to improve the accessibility and reliability of program-related information.
2. Strengthen Decision-Making โ€“ Provide evidence-based insights through data analysis and reporting to support strategic planning, resource allocation, and program implementation.
3. Optimize Reporting Mechanisms โ€“ Develop standardized templates, tools, and processes to streamline reporting, ensuring timely and accurate communication of project progress and impact.
4. Improve Coordination and Collaboration โ€“ Facilitate information sharing among stakeholders, ensuring alignment between program teams, partners, and donors to enhance operational effectiveness.
5. Support Capacity Building โ€“ Provide training and technical support to program staff on information management tools, data analysis techniques, and best practices to improve overall program efficiency.

Education

Relevant university degree / higher education or demonstrated equivalent humanitarian related experience

Experience

Minimum 4 years of proven experience in program implementation, preferably in an international organisation

Knowledge, Skills and Languages
Full understanding of the IFRC RCRC IM network High level of familiarity with IFRC IM standards, tools and processes Strong negotiation, networking and communications skills Ability to work within a multi-cultural, multilingual and multidisciplinary environment. Fluently spoken and written English and French
