ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT AND SCOPE:
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Thailand implements a range of national and regional projects aiming at addressing migration challenges and delivering increased protection and assistance to vulnerable migrants in partnership with government, civil society and private sector counterparts.ย
Under the Protection Unit, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Thailand implements a range of national and regional projects aimed at addressing migration challenges and delivering increased protection and assistance to vulnerable migrants in partnership with government, civil society and private sector counterparts. Through research, policy interventions, capacity-building and outreach, these projects aim to develop sustainable solutions to reduce systemic vulnerabilities and to provide increased support to vulnerable migrants, including victims of trafficking, internally displaced persons, refugees,asylum seekers, unaccompanied minors, and exploited and abused migrants.

abused migrants. In addition, IOM provisions a protection and assistance to vulnerable and stranded migrants, assistance for voluntary return, as well as the reintegration of migrants through a wide range of services, in line with IOMโs integrated approach to reintegration. This includes reintegration counselling as well as economic, social and psychosocial assistance at the individual, collective and community levels.
Under the overall supervision of the Program Manager (Protection), and the direct supervision of the National Project Officer in Bangkok, the incumbent will be responsible for supporting the planning and implementation of activities in the thematic area of case
management, return and reintegration.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Provide overall support in the day-to day management, implementation and monitoring of assistance to vulnerable migrants, in particular the case management for return and reintegration, including timely delivery, quality control, administrate matters follow-up and financial support in line with IOM polices, and procedures and donor requirements;Perform quality control checks, and maintain accuracy, timeliness and compliance with established protection procedures and guidelines;Act as the unit focal point on case management, including return and reintegration, including for administrative coordination of project implementation, involving extensive liaison with diverse organizational units and external parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, process and follow-up on administrative actions, etc;Map relevant agencies for training and capacity-development, assessing current levels of knowledge and information needs, supporting the creation of material and training materials to state and non-state actors, and assist workshop trainers/facilitators in conducting training sessions;Track project expenditures in coordination with the supervisor and Resource Management Unit; verify availability of funds; obtain necessary approval and update budget-related information;Retrieve, compile, summarize, analyse, and present information/data on specific project topics;Draft internal and external reports, identifying shortfalls in delivery, bring them to the attention of the supervisor and suggest remedial actions;Draft correspondence on project issues, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentation, and other forms of documentation related to project implementation;Provide information and assistance to the case workers and interpreter who work under the program;Organize meetings and conferences; assist in coordinating implementation activities with local authorities, partners, United Nation agencies, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, donors and other stakeholders relevant to the project; andPerform such other duties as may be assigned.QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
EDUCATION
โข High school diploma with five years of professional experience; or,
โข Bachelorโs degree in social work, law, international relations, political science, social science, or a related field from an accredited academic institution with at least three years of relevant professional experience.
Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.
EXPERIENCE
โข Experience working for non-governmental organizations, international governmental organizations or government institutions;
โข Experience working on the protection and assistance of vulnerable migrant populations;
โข Experience working in case management, return and reintegration and counter-trafficking intervention will be considered an asset;
โข Experience working in a multi-cultural environment and demonstrated capacity to respect diversity.
SKILLS
โข Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality is mandatory;
โข Sound knowledge of programme implementation and evaluation;
โข Proven understanding of migration dynamics in Thailand and of vulnerabilities experienced by migrant populations; and
โข Demonstrated knowledge of information technology and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and SharePoint.
LANGUAGES
โข Fluency in English and Thai is required (oral and written).
