Under the overall supervision of the Deputy Chief of Mission (DCoM) and the direct supervision of the Labour Mobility & Integration (LMI) Programme Manager, the Programme Associate will collaborate with Project Officers to facilitate the successful implementation of LMI activities. This role involves active coordination with Libyan counterparts, support the monitoring of project implementation, strategic planning, and fostering collaboration and operational efficiency. The incumbent will support the resource mobilization, crisis response, and the implementation of strategic objectives.
- Support the Programme Manager and LMI Team with all the administrative and financial tasks as required, including maintaining proper documentation/files of the project, preparing purchase requisition, payment request, invitation letters and other relevant documents.ย
- Conduct monitoring of service delivery by Service Providers and/or Implementing Partners including providing detailed feedback on their reports and offering guidance on project implementation to address unforeseen challenges. ย ย ย ย ย ย ย
- Support the expansion of programme outreach and its network by monitoring and attending events related to LMI programme.ย ย
- Support the conducting field assessments for LMI-related topics and issues based on project needs.ย ย
- Support in the translation of non-official documents, information, and data for the field team from English to Arabic and vice versa, for internal use.ย
- Support the logistical arrangements for focus groups, workshops, exchange sessions and trainings.ย ย
- Provide support to the Programme Manager with the tracking and collection of necessary supporting data/documents from logistics/procurement and finance units.ย
- Support in organizing capacity building initiatives and training programs to relevant public stakeholders.ย
- Assist the LMI Programme Manager in developing project administrative forms and tracking tools for LMI Unit.ย
- Undergo field travel as needed to support field team.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned by supervisors. Education / Experience:
- High school diploma with at least five (5) years of relevant experience, or,
- University degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields, from an accredited academic institution with three (3) years of relevant experience.
- Previous working experience in other international organizations (IOM, UN etc.) is an advantage.ย Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, E-mail, Outlook, Teams and SharePoint.
- Effective organizational skills and ability to establish priorities and plans, ability to work under pressure and cope with deadlines.ย ย
- Good written and spoken communications skills, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.ย
- Sound knowledge of financial and administrative management and effective resource management skills. Languages:
For this position, fluency in English and Arabic are required (oral and written).
Working knowledge of another official UN language (Chinese, Russian, and Spanish) is an advantage.
