Arranges for Customs exemptions and prepares all necessary documents to facilitate the imports to Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) and Customs Offices of the Host Government. โ€ข Ensures that goods are efficiently and safely cleared from port or transit locations, surveys problematic shipments; raises claims, documents and other reports necessary for claim and record purposes. โ€ข Undertakes and controls port payments, the upkeeps of accurate records of all transactions made and prepares reports and correspondence as required. โ€ข Arranges the safe dispatch of supplies and equipment from port to supply destination. โ€ข Plans and supervises receipt of Agency-sponsored supplies at portsโ€™ temporary storage in the port area, if and when required; coordinates the survey of UNRWA vehicles with Customs Authority and observes the scraping process of the vehicles under the Customs supervision. โ€ข Arranges with local authorities, port and customs clearance of all Agency supplies including personal effect of UNRWA staff; ensures minimum storage period to avoid unnecessary charges. โ€ข Administers the Agencyโ€™s contracts with the clearing agents, ensures the application of their provisions and that services are rendered satisfactorily; arranges for quality control inspection of supplies on receipt at port in coordination with the Materials Inspector. โ€ข Performs other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor CompetenciesUN Core Values of Integrity, Professionalism and Respect for Diversity, and Core Competencies of Communication, Working with People and Drive for Results apply by default.
