5 Steps to get a job in the United Nations

Background
ย  Diversity, Equity and Inclusion are core principles at UNDP:ย  we value diversity as an expression of the multiplicity of nations and cultures where we operate, we foster inclusion as a way of ensuring all personnel are empowered to contribute to our mission, and we ensure equity and fairness in all our actions. Taking a โ€˜leave no one behindโ€™ approach to our diversity efforts means increasing representation of underserved populations. People who identify as belonging to marginalized or excluded populations are strongly encouraged to apply. Learn more about working at UNDP including our values and inspiring stories.
ย  UNDP does not tolerate sexual exploitation and abuse, any kind of harassment, including sexual harassment, and discrimination. All selected candidates will, therefore, undergo rigorous reference and background checks. ย

As the lead UN development agency, UNDP supports countries in their efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. UNDP is present in 170 countries around the world and works to eradicate poverty and reduce inequalities. The UNDP Nordic Representation Office is located at the UN City in Copenhagen, with satellite offices in Stockholm and Oslo. Together we work for distributing knowledge about UNDPโ€™s work in the Nordic countries as well as coordinating the partnership with these key partners.

The internship position offers a unique opportunity for insight into UNDPโ€™s work and the chance to gain experience from an international professional environment. We are a small office, and the intern will have the opportunity to participate in an array of different tasks and be positioned to influence the officeโ€™s work.

The intern will work out of UNDPโ€™s office at UN City in Copenhagen under the guidance of the Partnership and Communications Analyst and the UNDP Nordic Office Deputy Director.
