What we are looking for:
NRCโs PnP Department is hiring a Strategy and Operations Senior Adviser toย coordinate the departmentโs annual strategic planning process, support the PnP management teams and drive operational efficiency. The role focuses on optimizing processes to align daily operations with strategic goals and supports organisational development through change management, internal communication, and knowledge management. Additionally, the adviser will strengthen collaboration across PnP sections, support functions, and offices by promoting effective ways of working, learning, and capacity development.
What you will do:
- Coordinate the annual planning and budgeting processes in the department, including development of the balanced scorecard and workplans, monitor implementation and report against these.
- Responsible for support to PnP Management Team and Extended Management Team, including tracking follow-up of decisions and ensuring efficient working methods.
- Coordinate contributions from PnP sections and offices and quality assure reports for the Senior Management Group and the Board of Directors such as strategy reporting and annual reports from the Board.
- Lead the planning of department retreats and global seminars organised by PnP, including the Extended Management Team retreats and the Global Influencing and Communications Seminar.ย
- Department focal point for staff inductions, learning and development.
- Responsible for internal communication, both within the department and from the department to the rest of NRC.
- Responsible for knowledge management for the department, including oversight of PnP-owned governing documents and managing the department Sharepoint sites.
- Lead on specific initiatives and projects, as delegated by the Department Director.
- Compliance and adherence to NRC policies, guidance and procedures.
- Work in particular to establish good ways of working within the department and with other internal stakeholders and build a common culture.
- Participate in meetings of the PnP Operations Group and support the coordinators of this group as needed.
- Support the director in follow-up of the Global Staff Survey, 360 evaluation processes and NRCโs DEI policies and plans.

What you will bring:
- University degree or equivalent qualification, preferably at masterโs degree level.
- Minimum 5 years of work experience, experience from the humanitarian sector is an asset.
- Minimum five years professional experience and demonstrated expertise in project management.
- Excellent writing, editing and communication skills in English (and preferably also Norwegian).
- Documented results related to the positionโs responsibilities.ย
- Minimum 5 years' experience in organisational development processes such as strategy development, change management, knowledge management and internal communication.
- Strong facilitation and organisational skills with the ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders at different levels of the organisation.
- Experience in organisational work and cross-departmental coordination.
- Proven interpersonal skills and high degree of flexibility.
- Excellent administrative skills, including establishment of effective systems.
- Understanding of monitoring and impact assessment.
- Experience from and understanding of institutional partnerships, advocacy, media, and communications work.
What we offer:
- Duty station:ย Head Office or Rep Offices in Berlin, London and Brussels, or through an Employer of Record (EoR) contract in France, Italy, Denmark, Finland, Spain, or the Netherlands. ย ย
- Contract: 12 Months. ย
- Travel: Up to 10%.
- Salary/benefits: grade 9 on NRCโs national salary scale, with accompanying terms and conditions.
