    Organizational Setting and Reporting Relationship

    The position of Operation Assistant is assigned to the Myanmar Resident Mission (MYRM) within the Southeast Asia Department (SERD). You will be based at our Resident Mission Office in Yangon. You will report to the Country Director.

    Your Role

    As an Operations Assistant, you will provide administrative support to MYRM activities and assist with project implementation, technical assistance (TA) processing and implementation, database management, and logistics support.

    You will:

    Coordination and Meeting Support

  • Manage supervisor(s)' schedule.
Arrange logistics for meetings and events, including room bookings, preparing materials, and drafting business correspondence such as letters, memos, and emails. Facilitate dispatch of signed communications and ensure follow-up actions are tracked.

Mission and Travel Administration

Process travel documents including travel requests and expense claims in compliance with ADB procedures. Support mission-related logistics and documentation archiving.

Procurement and Budget Support

Process requisitions and purchase orders using ADB's eProcurement system. Help with the preparation and monitoring of budgets and procurement plans. Maintain accurate records and provide updates on procurement and expenditure activities. Help monitor use and maintenance of office vehicles and coordination with drivers.

Documentation and Operational Support

Help prepare internal documents including consultant contracts, memos, reports, and other project-related materials. Maintain data and records in ADB systems for project and operational administration.

Office and Personnel Administration

Support personnel-related functions including tracking of leave, attendance, and overtime. Support inventory management and periodic verification of office assets with the administrative officer.

Other Duties

Perform other tasks assigned in line with the annual work plan and team priorities.

Qualifications

You will need:

Bachelor's degree in finance, social sciences, business studies, or other related fields. At least 5 years of relevant professional work experience; experience in international multilateral and bilateral agencies is desirable. Ability to work proactively on assigned tasks, areas of analysis and research that have a well-defined scope and steps. Excellent proficiency in written and verbal communications in English. Proficient in ADB standard software programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and information technologies. Ability to work collaboratively with individuals from different cultural and technical backgrounds. Please refer to the link for ADB Competency Framework for TL1.

Additional Information

This is a fixed term appointment with option to renew, initially for a period of up to 3 years, or up to the Normal Retirement Date (NRD), whichever comes earlier, for the purpose(s) and conditions determined by ADB, in accordance with Administrative Order No. 2.01 (Recruitment and Appointment). After the initial fixed-term period, ADB may choose to renew the appointment for up to an additional 3 years or not renewed. This decision will be made in the overall interest of ADB, based on factors including but not limited to the requirement of Staff's particular blend of skills and experience for the medium-term work program of the organizational unit, sufficient funding to cover the renewed period, and Staff's performance and suitability for employment. There is no limit to the number of renewals up to NRD. However, this appointment is not convertible to a regular appointment.

This opening is a local staff position. It is open only to nationals and residents of Myanmar.
