Mission and objectivesIstanbul International Center for Private Sector in Development (IICPSD) supports the private sector and foundations to become transformative partners in development through research, advocacy for inclusive business, facilitation of public-private dialogue and brokering partnerships. IICPSD, established in 2011 in partnership with the Government of Turkey, is one of UNDP's six Global Policy Centres. It leads UNDPโs global work on private sector and foundations and supports UNDPโs offices all over the world. The Center focuses on four thematic areas: 1. Inclusive Business; 2. Private Sector Engagement in Skills Development; 3. Impact investing; 4. Resilience and Crisis Response. The Center also hosts four global initiatives: Business Call to Action, SDG Philanthropy Platform, Global Islamic Finance and Impact Investing Platform and Connecting Business Initiative.
ContextThe Gamified and Simulation-Based Safety Trainings for Children in Ukraine initiative aims to equip children aged 10โ16 in frontline areas with practical safety knowledge through an engaging, trauma-sensitive digital learning experience. As part of this project, the Trainer on Game & Mobile Development will play a key role in building the volunteersโ capacity to design and implement simple, interactive modules using low-code and open-source tools. The trainer will ensure that all development work is aligned with child safety principles, technical feasibility, and accessibility standards. The trainer will guide the Game & Mobile Development Team through short, practical sessions focused on developing lightweight mobile prototypes and AR simulations optimized for low connectivity environments. The goal is to prepare volunteers to co-create a functional, inclusive, and open-source digital learning tool that supports UNESCOโs commitment to safe education and inclusive design.
Task DescriptionThe online volunteer will be tasked to: Design and deliver short training sessions (2โ3) introducing key concepts in mobile prototyping, gamified interface design, and AR simulation integration. Demonstrate the use of low-code and open-source frameworks (e.g., Glide, AppSheet, Unity Lite, or similar platforms) suitable for mobile-friendly educational applications. Provide hands-on guidance to volunteers in translating game storyboards into working digital prototypes. Offer technical advice on accessibility, offline usability, and device compatibility during the sprints. Review the prototypeโs technical setup and provide feedback on optimization and performance. Ensure alignment between the game mechanics and psychological safety requirements, working closely with the Psychological Safety & Learning Design Team. Support the documentation of development steps for inclusion in the final open-source package.
