Job Description Summary
Job holder performs front office support functions in the CO, reports to the Sudan WFP clinics manager for all the administrative and logistic issues and to the Sudan WFP clinics Senior Doctor for all medical issues, providing basic medical assistance at nursing level wherever the doctor is not immediately available.
Incumbents take responsibility for completion of a range of activities, including business support activities and nursing activities.JOB PURPOSE:
Job holder is a Nurse based in multiple locations (Port Sudan, Kassala, Dongola, Kosti, Madani, Khartoum, Geneina, El Obeid) โ expected to employ their nursing experience as well as general administrative and medical administrative experiences to deliver a wide range of nursing and business support processes with professionalism within the Sudan WFP Clinics project. Their role will facilitate the effective delivery of quality medical services to WFP staff & their family members along with other team players, SUDAN WFP CLINICS Medical Officers, Sudan WFP Clinics Head Doctor and Sudan WFP Clinics Project Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (not all-inclusive, nor exhaustive):
1. Assist Sudan WFP Clinics team with all the administrative, logistic and procurement related activities.
2. Administer recommended vaccines on a case-by-case basis (following standard operating procedures of the Medical Section which are based on World Health Organization and Centres for Disease Control recommendations) and record the administered vaccines on the international vaccination card.
3. Perform recommended analysis, through RDT kits, on a case-by-case basis (following standard operating procedures of the Medical Section.
4. Provide medical and administrative support to WFP staff and their eligible dependents both within WFP premises and during hospitalization periods.
5. Support the Sudan WFP Clinics doctor in organizing health education trainings to employees and family members.
6. Respond to standard queries and provide timely and accurate guidance regarding health-related topics, including vaccination, certification and prevention.
7. Prepare reports, maintain records and databases, to ensure information is organized and readily available for staff.
8. Perform any other related duties as required.
THE FOLLOWING SKILLS/KNOELDGES ARE ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS (NURSE -BSA):
- To have good nursing skills, knowledge of first aid delivery and vital sign measurement ability.
- To have good knowledge of different classes of pharmaceuticals, consumables, medical equipment.
- To have good knowledge of conducting stock inventory - keeping methods (spreadsheet), packing & dispatching ability of medications, consumables, etc. with keeping stock balance.
- To have knowledge of critical medical conditions to support doctors in case of emergencies.
- To have knowledge of administering, scheduling & to understand cold chain system of different.
STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Education: Bachelor's degree in nursing, from a recognized nursing school/university with a nationally or internationally recognized and valid nursing qualification (e.g. SRN UK - State Registered Nurse).
Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in nursing, of which at least 3 years should be in a capacity directly relevant to the current position, preferably in a UN medical service or equivalent environment. BLS certificate required, ACLS certificate is a plus.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of specialized nursing practices and methods gained through relevant technical training and experience.
- Knowledge of specialized common business practices and methods gained through relevant technical training and experience.
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with a range of individuals to provide a high-quality support service.
- Ability to manage data and independently highlight problems requiring attention.
- Ability to monitor and record financial transactions.
- Good communication skills required to give and receive information and work with a variety of individuals. ยท Ability to maintain confidentiality. ยท Ability to demonstrate quality customer services personality (integrity, passion, compassionate, etc.)
Language: Fluency in English and Arabic.
