OVERVIEW OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE POST

Under the overall authority of the Head of Office, the overall supervision of the Education Specialist, the day-to-day direct supervision of the Project Officer for Education (CSESI), and the guidance provided by the Education Unit at UNESCO Dhaka Office, the incumbent will have internal contacts including colleagues at the Education Unit and the Admin Unit of Dhaka Office, and external contacts include counterparts of the implementation partners, beneficiary groups and others as required. The incumbent will support the contextualization of the Global CSESI for Bangladesh at the national level along with the implementation of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and Greening Education (GE) initiatives and perform the following responsibilities:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

An advanced university degree (Master or equivalent) in the field of Climate Change or Disaster management or relevant.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 5 years of progressively responsible relevant work experience in technical, logistical, and administrative programme/project management support;
  • Experience in working in a digital work environment using multiple office software packages;
  • Experience in working with government entities and working in an international environment like UN agencies or INGOs will be an added advantage;
  • At least 5 years of progressively responsible relevant work experience in technical, logistical, and administrative programme/project management support;
