Organizational Setting

The position is located at the FAO Representation in Georgia under the European Neighbourhood Programme for Agriculture and Rural Development (ENPARD) programme. The main aim of the FAO country offices, which are headed by the FAO Representative, is to assist governments to develop policies, programmes and projects to achieve food security and to reduce hunger and malnutrition, to help develop the agricultural, fisheries and forestry sectors, and to use their environmental and natural resources in a sustainable manner.ย 


Reporting Lines

Under the overall responsibility of the FAO Representative and the Assistant FAO Representative in Georgia and the direct supervision of the ENPARD IV Programme Manager, the National Grant Analyst will work within the grantsโ€™ team to provide technical and administrative support to the implementation of support packages for beneficiaries with a focus on food safety.ย

Tasks and responsibilities

โ€ข ย  ย Support the implementation of the investment support under the support packages of ENPARD IV. In particular, support with the project activities related to matching grant agreement preparation, outreach to beneficiaries, relationship with suppliers, and all payment procedures.
โ€ข ย  ย Assist the review team in the assessment of received applications for support packages; including revision of support packages applications from application stage to final payment, follow-up of the applicantโ€™s activities related to food safety capacity building, performance of verification field visits, provision of technical support to applicants in the implementation of new practices in line with food safety requirements.ย 
โ€ข ย  ย Support the monitoring and evaluation of investments, including field visits.ย 
โ€ข ย  ย Liaise and report to the communication officer all activities implemented under the project to ensure adequate visibility.ย 
โ€ข ย  ย Liaise and coordinate with the ENPARD IV extension team on all training and capacity-building related activities to support package beneficiaries.
โ€ข ย  ย Other duties as required.

โ€ข ย  ย University degree in management, economy, agricultural economics, agricultural science or related fields
โ€ข ย  ย At least 2 years of relevant practical experience in grant projects
โ€ข ย  ย Working knowledge of English and Georgian
โ€ข ย  ย National of Georgia
