About IRRI

The International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) is dedicated to reducing poverty and hunger through rice science; improving the health and welfare of rice farmers and consumers; and protecting the rice-growing environment for future generations. IRRI is an independent, nonprofit, research and educational institute, founded in 1960 by the Ford and Rockefeller foundations with support from the Philippine government.

The institute, headquartered in Los Baños, Philippines, has offices in 17 rice-growing countries in Asia and Africa, and over 1,000 staff. Working with in-country partners, IRRI develops advanced rice varieties that yield more grain and better withstand pests and disease as well as flooding, drought, and other harmful effects of climate change.

This position is remote based and must only be filled by the permanent residents of India.

Job Purpose

The objectives are to assist the project coordinator in managing day-to-day operations by coordinating tasks, setting priorities, and ensuring a smooth workflow, while also supporting data collection, organization, and analysis relevant to the program's objectives.

This includes gathering feedback from stakeholders to aid in monitoring and evaluating training programs and managing logistical aspects such as scheduling training, arranging travel accommodations, and coordinating venue bookings for events associated with the program. Additionally, providing additional support as needed for successful program implementation, including preparing reports, liaising with external partners, and offering administrative and financial assistance.

Roles and Responsibilities

The incumbent would be required to work under the supervision of a principle project coordinator and principle investigator to smoothen the operations and he/she will be liable to collect data, gather feedback, logistics, financial management and administrative management etc.

He/She will also be responsible for collecting, organizing and analyzing data relevant to the program's objectives, which may involve recording case studies, conducting interviews and gathering feedback from the stakeholders, Additionally he/she will provide overall administrative and financial support to IRRI Education. He/She will also update database of course materials and perform other tasks as assigned.

  • Under the guidance of the supervisor, managing day to day operations related to the program. This involves coordinating tasks, setting priorities and ensure smooth workflow
  • Provide overall administrative and financial support to IRRI Education and manage logistics such as but not limited to scheduling meetings with experts, scheduling training, arranging travel accommodations, coordinating venue, ensuring project spending is consistent with the project guidelines, booking for events and engaging with experts to confirm schedule and availability and coordinate their presentations in one repository
  • Support in collecting, organizing and analyzing data relevant to the program's objectives. This may involve recording case studies, success stories, conducting interviews or utilizing other data collection methods
  • Gather feedback from stakeholders, participants and other relevant stakeholders involved in the program. Supporting the monitoring and evaluation process of the training programs
  • Additional responsibilities as needed to support the successful implementation of the program. This may include tasks such as preparing reports, liaising with external partners or providing administrative support
  • Update database of course materials (audio/video recording, resolution to FAQs, supplemental materials etc.)
  • Perform other relevant tasks assigned by the supervisor from time to time

    Qualifications

    Master's in Agriculture/Communications/Corporate Communication/Social science with at least 2 years of work experience in facilitating training and capacity development programs for various stakeholders

    Skills Required

    Good operational management skills

    Advance knowledge of MS office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

    Good communication skills (oral and written)

    Good interpersonal skills
