Where you come in:
In this full-time, maximum term position until 30 September 2023 with strong potential for extension, youโll deliver culturally appropriate support to men who have used violence. Youโll be a part of a go forward team eager to help build and restore Aboriginal communities through working with the males in our client groups, aiming to restore respect and safety for women and children to support healing the family unit. Your knowledge of both traditional Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and contemporary healing methods will see you lead your clients through a process of recovery to self, family and community.
We currently have a position available in Doomadgee or Normanton.

Creating and using culturally appropriate tools to engage participants with the program Ensuring that the whole family is engaged and supported Promoting healing and wellbeing within the individual and the community Creating and using effective referral pathwaysDoes this sound like you?
You have a desire to make a positive local impact through your knowledge and understanding of working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families. You hold strong connections throughout the community and understand the ongoing and recurring challenges. Your awareness of the other services available in the community will help you be flexible in your approach to truly provide healing and wellbeing to the participants and the wider community. You might also be looking to develop your skills through formalised qualifications.
This role requires:
Demonstrated ability to promote healing and wellbeing within individuals Understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men and their place in community Strong interpersonal skills Current valid driverโs licence Working with Children Check / Blue Card (or ability to obtain one) Senior First Aid certificate (or ability to obtain one)Working at 54reasons is more than just a job.
