This consultancy is implemented under the North Africa Migration and Development (NAMAD) Phase II project, which aims to enhance protection and improve access to health and mental health services for migrants in Tunisia. In light of a deteriorating protection environment and escalating barriers to healthcare for migrants, particularly for those in vulnerable situations such as pregnant women, survivors of gender-based violence, and individuals with trauma-related health conditions, IOM will provide direct medical assistance to 250 migrants through its offices in Tunis, Sfax, and Zarzis. Support includes health consultations, assistance to migrants with disabilities, and medical support for survivors of violence and torture. The consultancy role will directly contribute to this effort by facilitating access to health services, supporting patient accompaniment, and promoting a dignified and rights-based approach to migrant health. Furthermore, this role is aligned with IOMโ€™s broader goal to build local capacity and strengthen service provision for equitable healthcare access for migrants and host communities in Tunisia.

1. Escort migrant beneficiaries between IOM premises and designated healthcare facilities.
2. Ensure the comfort, dignity, and safety of beneficiaries throughout medical-related transport and appointments.
3. Support the completion and clarification of medical documentation required by beneficiaries, such as forms and prescriptions.

4. Assist with administrative procedures at medical facilities including registration, follow-up appointment scheduling, and documentation handling.
5. Provide emotional reassurance and basic psychosocial support during medical visits.
6. Communicate observed medical or psychological concerns of the beneficiaries to IOM medical staff or caseworkers, particularly highlighting any protection concerns.
7. Maintain clear and updated records of all accompaniment activities, administrative tasks completed, and any incidents or issues faced.
8. Coordinate with IOM medical personnel and external healthcare providers to facilitate smooth service provision.
9. Monitor and report daily activities, including any challenges encountered, to the Migration Health Unit.
10. Provide support in emergency health-related referrals and ensure close coordination with medical partners.
11. Perform such other duties as may be assigned

Education
๏‚ท University degree in Nursing, Public Health, Social Work, or related field; or equivalent professional experience in healthcare/social services.
Experience
๏‚ท Prior experience in a health-related setting or working with vulnerable groups (migrants, patients) is an asset.
๏‚ท Familiarity with administrative procedures in health institutions is desirable.
๏‚ท Sensitivity to cultural, gender, age, and disability issues.

Languages
Fluency in French and Arabic is required.
Working knowledge of English is desirable.
