Main purpose of the role

The individual will use expert knowledge in the Skills and Livelihood space to manage a high-quality portfolio of investment proposals, and active programmes that ensure operational excellence and lasting change for Young Women in India for their Skilling and Livelihood,ย fulfilling the GIRL Capital Mission - Women\u2019s Economic Empowerment and meet the corporate objectives agreed for India with the CIFF Board.

Role\u2019s responsibilities

Strategy & planning

Prepare and present high-quality analysis and research, as required, to support the sector in determining future strategic priorities and setting operational plans. Contribute to the production of programme strategy and the associated evidence base, alongside other team members, prior to a proposal\u2019s submission for approval. Lead on the development of strategies related to the mission on Girl Capital for India, with a focus on Skilling and Employment. Contribute to field building of CIFF\u2019s work and nurture allies and support from external key stakeholders/partners to drive shifts at systems level in alignment with Mission\u2019s priorities. ย  Contribute in the development and implementation of multi-year business planning for the Girl Capital mission and support for the Executable Plan to ensure effective prioritization of resources and activities each year.

Programme development, delivery & performance

Personally manage a portfolio of live programmes with a value c. USD 35M of and an active pipeline of potential investments of c. USD 30M in accordance with the sector priorities and plan aligned to the mission. Against key corporate and / or sector team indicators and targets, monitor and report internally on the performance of assigned portfolio. Apply agreed due diligence and risk management protocols appropriately throughout the development and delivery of proposals and programmes, to ensure the interests and reputation of the Foundation are protected. Conduct structured feasibility analysis on investment proposals, using an appropriate range of methodologies and techniques, to ensure they are based on logical and robust assumptions, which can withstand scrutiny from the Executive Team (ET) and CIFF Board. Working either with sector colleagues or independently, prepare summary reports, board reports and portfolio investment reports, ensuring these are produced to a high-standard and in a timely fashion, often within tight timeframes. Co-ordinate the development of grant agreements, to forecast and process grant payments and to enable effective grant management and reporting within the organisation. Working closely with and taking the advice and guidance of, the sector team\u2019s Programme Excellence ย ย Partner, identify and embed appropriate processes to all proposals and programmes to develop a robust data-strategy, monitor performance against Mission OKR, drive cost effectiveness and fiscal sustainability. Taking lead on conducting regular reviews of the progress and performance of programmes under delivery to identify problems and delays, and work with partners to develop effective solutions (escalating to more senior colleagues for support and intervention, where required) that increases operational effectiveness and efficiency. Support in driving programme effectiveness by identifying risks, troubleshooting barriers, and implementing insights on programme management Leverage their expertise and conceptual thinking to understand complex issues and their implications, and devise fit for purpose solutions based on limited information, with a longer-term view, aligned with strengthening the ecosystem. Work as part of a team to shape and implement plans for scaling up, replicating or leveraging additional support for successful programmes and initiatives, in accordance with Foundation priorities. Identify opportunities and options and share recommendations for improving processes, procedures and programme management approaches within (and beyond) the team, to support increased organisational efficiency and effectiveness.

Sector knowledge and profile-building

Adopt an ecosystem approach to the Girl capital mission to contribute in ย developing and maintaining excellent external relationships within the sector specialism, always acting as a corporate ambassador for CIFF, to help build the organisation\u2019s reputation and profile as a professional, visionary, and collaborative philanthropy Keep abreast of developments within the Skilling and Livelihood Sector in India, and international development sectors, establishing appropriate information gathering networks and channels to deepen professional knowledge and skills. Working with the Partnerships and External Affairs team, contribute to the development and promotion of high-quality thought leadership, PR and marketing materials to raise awareness about CIFF\u2019s work within the sector, ensuring alignment with the Foundation\u2019s communications and advocacy strategies in a risk mitigated manner Identify opportunities and support in commission of sector-relevant research and analysis to inform the effective development, delivery and evaluation of programmes and initiatives

Conduct rigorous research and evaluation of potential partners, using agreed corporate protocols and techniques, to assess their suitability and credentials for collaborating on CIFF initiatives. Drive effective partnership management, including both ecosystem collaboration and government engagement In accordance with agreed account management principles and alongside senior colleagues, identify, cultivate, and proactively manage relationships with nominated key partners/stakeholders including national and sub-national Governments , to support the achievement of Foundation and sector team objectives in a coordinated manner Working alongside senior colleagues, help to develop strategic partnerships to support adoption, replication, co-funding or scaling-up of CIFF programmes. Membership and leadership of the team

Be a role model to less experienced team members, demonstrating CIFF\u2019s leadership behaviours and providing mentorship to aid their growth. We operate a matrix structure so reporting lines can vary between specific aspects of the role. This role may have line management responsibility for an analyst.

Skills & Experience

Strong knowledge, understanding and experience of Skilling and Livelihood sector in India and as relevant, globally Knowledge of the Government Programmes and Policies in Skilling and Livelihood Sector in India Demonstrable experience in analysis and due diligence; policy, planning and programme delivery, including field experience, all within the development sector Knowledge of the evidence bases pertaining to programme design and implementation, and belief in the importance of evidence-based decision making Strong working knowledge of impact measurement and programme monitoring and evaluation Working knowledge of cost-benefit and ROI methodologies and metrics to inform strategy and business planningAn innovative thinker with a pragmatic and solution-oriented mindset Ability to analyse an organisation\u2019s strength of management, vision and adaptive capacity. Benefits

The salary for the role is INR 37,70,303.
